Anybody who puts Shaq over Dream clearly never watched Dream play.

That's really amazing considering the fact that only two teams won 60+ games that season. :)

Note: The Suns and Magic won 59 and 57 games, respectively. Still, they beat the top four teams in the league.

Top 10...hell top 20? Wow, this is seriously some "what have you done lately" dumbcrap goin on...you win 1 championship on one of the teams with the highest payrolls and all the top 50 players are completely changed?

Seriously, reading posts like the ones in this thread really reinforce my opinion of idiocy in the general public.

u guys are forgeting this is a guy who already choked and nba finals, lost a 1 vs 8 seed to the GSW on a season his team won 67 games!!!!!. He is really good, i like him ,but he is not even a top 20. Top 50 for sure, but thats it, he is nowhere near the top 10.
This guys are way better than him : duncan, shaq, dream, mj, west, rusell, thomas, magic, kareem, moses , wilt , bird , big O, baylor, bob cousy, hell i think even pistol pete and the doctor where better than him.
I know he just won a championship, but dont forget his hole carreer, he has been really clutch this postseason, not always.

ahh, my memory must be slipping. i knew the suns were actually 59 but i coulda swore the magic had 60

    still, 62 + 60 + 59 +57 is some pretty stiff competition. the average for all 4 is 59.5 ... which rounds up to 60 ;)

There are a lot of young people on this board who have either bad memories or no memories. Shaq vs Hakeem will forever be debateable but both are clearly better than Duncan. Duncan is as close to being Dream good as Clyde is to being Jordan.

No one can say Dirk is in the top 10 with a straight face. He's top 50 for sure and probably top 30 atleast but I'd have to look through the list again.

Dirk isn't top 10 in the 1960's alone...

Top 10, no way Jose. Top 50 might be a stretch considering the list is growing, but no doubt a HOF. Anyone ranking Shaq over Dream, please resign/quit/drop/delist your name on clutchfans (j/k).

Dream was a better defensive player, better rebounder, better ball handler, better passer, better freethrow shooter, better overall shooter, better footwork, better post moves. Won two championsihps with supporting casts NOWHERE NEAR that of Shaq's 4.

There is a reason the entire Around The Horn cast of journalists (excluding Laker dickrider Plachke) was placing Dream ahead of Shaq.

Please, how is Shaq better? Like wow. Just wow. You people are jokes.

Basketball-reference.com's community Player Rating system has him 32 all time. Here is their current top 50. Frankly, I don't agree with a lot of it, but Nowitzki at 32 seems about right.

The system is public opinion. People can cast their votes on random matchups:

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/friv/elo.cgi

It constantly collects those votes and creates a ranking from it. It uses the ELO rating algorithm (used to rate chess players) for ranking players based on the 1-on-1 matchups they "win".
