If the Rockets can land Cousins without losing Asik, we'd have a formidable frontline. I'd trade anybody but Asik and Harden for Cousins. Having said that, I don't think the Kings would be dumb enough to do it...
anyone other than Harden for Cousins and sacramenton draft pick with which to choose burke or olapino
Um..... I doubt Cousins even stays with them. LooK for them to get some value in return for him sooner or later
New ownership in Sacramento. They aren't going to trade him until next Summer at the earliest after they get a chance at seeing if they can turn him into a superstar. However he is still a guy to keep on the list of players you consistently keep in contact with the Kings about. Things can change quickly with new ownership, but its important to realize its going to be at the earliest February to next Summer when he is available to entertain offers for... and thats assuming things are still in the toilet there in Sacramento. As to Houston's interest in Cousins... HELL YES they are still interested. Also the fact that the Rockets now have a top 10 NBA center as well that he can play with Im sure they are foaming at the mouth to get this guy in a Rockets uniform. He's a perfect fit for the Rockets system because of his versatility to play both the 5 and the 4, and play in the high post as well as the low post. He's an exceptional passer for his size who can create shots for himself and his teammates if his mind is right. Also he's still very young, and still has room to improve & mature.
Funny thing is, Morey made it easier for the Kings to re-sign Cousins, by sending his best friend Patterson to keep him happy.
If we didn't give up any of our core and if it was on an expiring contract with a team option so we could get rid of him easily if he starts acting like a brat.
Have not posted much , but from all the post from a lot of fans on this forum they are putting too much value in parson and asik... I'm no gm but I guarantee you morey would trade parson and asik for DMC in a second!!! Now would sac do it? Prob not without a first and us taking a horrible contract!! But two role players for a 22 yr old big man with decent post moves (yes he is a head case but look at the organization) all day any day!!!
Here is a good reason. http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/stor...ramento-king-trade-mercurial-demarcus-cousins Don't have Insider, so.....
In this case with so many different owners in the investor group, I expect them to elect a team president to sort of keep their best interests in line, and replace Geoff Petrie as GM almost immediately. I think the entire front office and coaching staff will be gutted. As far as the roster goes, depending on who they bring in as GM, I can see everyone but Cousins potentially hitting the trade block this Summer.
New ownership in Sacramento. We have no clue who will be running the franchise or how the franchise will position themselves. No clue.
My point was that any new ownership team/gm will most likely want to see what they can get out of their somewhat star player in year one before they consider moving him. Most of the time, new ownership would try to make a splash right away to improve the team, but I doubt any new owner would want to move their only young upcoming star-like player right away. It wouldn't make any sense.
My assumption is that there will be a vision with the pres of BB ops to implement. What is the vision? Challenge now? Build ala OKC (and Houston, GSW)? We have nothing to go on to guess who what be available for what type of return. We know nada! I'm not arguing with you just the idea of trying to foretell anything Sac may have in their bag.
