    David Andersen

Am I the only person that likes this guy? Seems like the majority of clutchfans want nothing to do with him.

The biggest knock against him is defense, but honestly I thought his defense was pretty good. Sure, he's not strong, but he's always making the right rotations and knows where he needs to be.

I checked his numbers on 82games.com and sure enough, this is what the numbers show.

    Defense: Pts per 100 Poss.
    On Court
    106.9
    Off Court
    109.9
    Difference
    -3.0

If he was such a liability, our pts allowed per possession wouldn't have decreased by this significant amount if he was on.

Most centers in the league aren't there for offensive possessions anyways so having a lack of strength doesn't really hurt the team significantly, the important thing is shutting down the paint and rotating to the right spots during penetration and passing.

He seemed to look pretty awful on defense from what I recall, regardless of the data. He'll probably improve marginally in that area if he sticks in this league but to me, his value comes on offense. His ability to stretch the floor is his calling card, if he can do it with consistency.

You should not listen to the people here at clutchfans. 99% of them are r****ds.

First of all, David is not an NBA center. He may have played one in Europe but that's different. Here, he's a power forward. He'd be perfect playing next to Yao. Also, he was no worse than Scola in his first year. Not to mention playing center is much more diffucult than PF.

Last year we desperately needed a center that did not did not cost an arm and a leg so we took a chance with him. Lots to gain nothing to lose. Unfortunately since we already have Scola, Patterson, Hill and Hayes at the PF his future with the Rockets does not look good.

David Anderson is a scrub who has no business playing the league.

He should go back his Euro-Squad and dominate against inferior talent.

Soft players don't belong on this Rockets squad.

He's got the Anne Hathaway defense syndrome.

He routinely got outmuscled for rebounds and was too easy to back in when posted up. He's your typical soft euro big man that loves to shoot jumpers, even if he is an aussie.

Many people think LS and BM are overpaid, too.

DA can be the stretch four with BM in the second unit; or the stretch four with YM. He adds another dimension.

It will be interesting to see what he learned from LS last year, what he learns from BM this year.

D was not the issue. We were warned his D was bad. The promise was a sharp-shooting big who stretched the floor. Only problem was, the only stretch was his streak of bricking. the guy couldn't hit the ocean from the beach for weeks. I was excited about him too. Oh well.

Buyout Anderson. We don't need him period. Rather have Hayes!

You have to think a team like Chicago could find a place for Andersen in the rotation for one season.

Yeah play on our d-league team.

Dude is useless if his shot isn't falling.

We just got a tougher, better defensive and rebounder in Miller.

A shot at Hayes? I'd keep Hayes over Hill.

Well have you watched him? rarely is he out of place. He just isn't strong enough to defend huge centers, but outside a few, how many good scoring centers are there?

He can be a stretch 4,but he will have to rebound and play some defense in order to get minutes, otherwise he will get in foul trouble.

I hope Hayes is our 4th string center. If he is that means Hill and Miller are outplaying him.

I love Hayes. There is not a better 6'6" center in the league. But he is 6'6". Yeah I know he plays bigger and slaps the ball out of bigger players quite frequently and takes charges and does all of those intangible things. But as hard as he plays he gets beat in the block by bigs all too often. Not as often as Hill but he doesn't bring anything to the offensive table. So if Hayes is bench fodder this year I think that would be a sign we are an improved team and not a reflection on Hayes.

I see him as 2 million against the cap for a player who wont play next year and also against next years salary for no playing time. He is extra filler to me on a trade waiting to happen. Or a salary dump. LOL! Sorry. Hate to sound so heartless but I think in emotionless terms with the Rockets to seperate winning ideas from my mind playing role player tricks on me and fan favorites who are unmmovable for even stars. I dont ever fall prey to these same things others do so easily.
