He is right in this. NeNe probably considered Houston once..... and that is enough to get whole Clutchfans fired up. He re-signed with the Nuggets pretty quick.... And NeNe is not very close to an Allstar.... I am not impressed.
Hey Gater. I'm not even sure I fully understand your point. Are you saying that all of the reports of the Rockets being willing to trade for Anthony or Howard without a guarentee of an extension are nothing more than stories planted by the Rockets? Where did you hear that? There have been multiple reports that the Rockets are willing to trade for Howard as a rental. If it were simply rumors started by the Rockets then that would be shot down pretty easily. The Rockets are obviously making offers and I have no doubt that they are serious. The logic is pretty straightforward but it is risky due to what you'd have to give up. Trade for Dwight and hope that he likes the team and city well enough to resign here rather than walk away from $28 million in potential salary. It's the exact strategy that Jerry West recently said that he would recommend. There's not one shred of evidence to support the idea that the Rockets weren't truely trying to acquire Anthony or Howard. You can certainly claim anything that you need to explain away is "spin" and there's not way that anyone can convince you otherwise. Am I misunderstanding your point?
What part of Stern vetoing a trade 3 years in the making don't people understand? What about Parsons, Landry, Scola? How he took over a team with two brittle stars that fell apart just as he got them role players worthy of winning a 'ship with? I just don't understand. Should all other GMs be fired if they don't get DHoward? People's irrational standards are beyond reason.
Yes, the quotes of Nene last time he was in town meant nothing. He was signing with the Rockets... I do agree with you that he is not worth his contract.
I don't think they would be favorites, but certainly top 3. I believe they probably would have ended up #2 seed.
It's not DMs fault that Yao left injured just a year ago. If Yao was healthy and was on this team we would be talking about the finals. We have a lot of nice players, I understand everybody wanting a star but because DM can't get a star in one season that means he sucks?
First, what has DM done to alienate free agents? Because players get traded a lot? Show me some proof and I'll believe you, but otherwise, you're making a claim without any justification. Second, let's say Alexander fires Morey, and hires a new GM (ideally Kevin Pritchard). Who's to say that GM does it leave us as a middling playoff team as well?
...which is why Nene basically said he would have rather been in Houston after the Rockets-Nuggets game this year. You don't say things to alienate your teammates without any reason unless it is an honest slip.
http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterockets/2012/03/nuggets-nene-shares-his-fondness-for-houston/ you're pretty clearly wrong, Nene is all but absolutely literal here.
What would you have done???????????? He's had his missess, but considering ownership does not want to "rebuild" and his two inherited stars litteraly crumbled, what could any other GM have done more? Honestly
Well not gonna talk about him getting fired until after the deadline passes. The feeling I am getting is not a good vibe on this deadline for anything even a little special to happen.
Houston was an option but obviously not the best....... to believe otherwise is just being naive. The guy is being polite..... maybe he wants to retire a Rocket if Denver is tired of him but then he is as washed up as Big Z in Miami.
The Rockets once had a #2 pick and a #1 pick. They got to 40+ wins and stayed there. They then managed by luck to obtain a superstar with that #2 pick. And they still couldn't get out of the first round until Morey came in. So basically Morey has made the team as competitive as the Rockets once were with two top-2 picks. And he did it with no capspace and at best a 14th pick. Tanking is not exactly rosy if your GM isn't that good.
If Morey's contract is up after next year, how does that affect his decision making? He's less likely to pursue a full-fledged rebuilding in case all the losing puts him on the hot seat with Les next season, right?
