I know that some people are a little delusional, but there is no way this guy is being serious. I think we're just missing his humor. I hope.

People need to realize that karma will always come around to bite you in the arse.

I was in the Galleria looking at shades the other day. I was trying on a pair of Prada and D&G sunglasses worth around $600 total.

The lady walked away for several minutes. I could have easily ran off with the shades but I didn't of course. I told her that I'm glad she trusted me but don't do this with other ppl.

As to the original question, yeah it seems that crime is up quite a bit in the last year. In my little neighborhood we've had several cars broken in to recently. Hell, lately theives have even begun to steal people's plants/flowers from their front yards in the middle of the night. Who does that!?

People will scapegoat them forever, don't worry.

There has been a rise in crime since Katrina refugees came.

    Most Katrina refugees are black.

Therefore, black Katrina refugees are responsible for part of the rise in crime in Houston.

Facts are facts people. No racism here.

I doubt that you'll see people "scapegoating" them if/when Houston crime levels drop back to pre-Katrina levels.

Does anyone have statistics on this? I know immediately following Katrina there was a large spike in crime, but is it still that high today?

Shortly after Katrina, I was mugged, choked and beaten by a youth when I went to visit a friend in North Houston. The people who witnessed the incident later said the kid had been seen before and they knew he was N.O from his accent. I moved out of Houston a year later, tired of the crime. I still visit from time to time, but it does feel a bit safer nowadays.
