People have been getting robbed all up and down my mom’s street. They finally tried my mom’s house. Broke out the back window and eventually left because of the alarm. Ended up taking the windows out and replacing them with a wall. They have also upgraded their security system. This is the North Shore East Houston area.

As the holiday season approaches, people spending their money on iPhones and video games. This money goes to the corporations bank accounts and Houston never sees this money again. Some people do not feel the recession at all. Others do, and they turn to drugs to forget their problems. Pot heads need to smoke weed several times every day. Weed turns people into someone they are not. People think it makes you relax, it doesn't. It makes you carefree of anyone, including yourself.

If crime has increased I bet it will b/c of these two main factors

    1. more fatherless homes
    2. more high school dropouts

What race were the majority of people that came over because of Katrina?

The racist undertones have now become overtones.

So if it is, in fact, true that crime increased as a direct consequence of Katrina evacuee's coming into town (i.e. they are the ones causing the increase in crime), how do you talk about it without being racist? Or are you just not allowed to talk about it?

    Seriously curious....

Color is a coincidental, non-factor here.

Why does crime have to be committed in relation to the color of your skin, not in relation to the location you are from or your economic situation?

You have to preface it by saying "I have black friends."

LOL, so what are you gonna do, just bury your head in the sand and ignore the *fact* that crime rose after Katrina?

To answer your question, I assume most of the people that came over were black. What's your point? Do you not discuss things that are facts?

Screw the racism calls. It is a fact that crime shot up when the refugees came. It is what it is. I do wonder how big a factor it is this far after the fact though.

You're the one that implied this correlation. The others were simply talking about a crime problem.

No one saying, or even implying, that the color of anyone's skin has anything to do with causality as it relates to this topic, or this new found sidebar.
