The only problem with me is that I hate when he says "Nowww, stop it here...Let it run a little, NOW STOP it here..."

Someone PLEASE give him the ability to control or COMMUNICATE with the man...

I can't stand Clyde...but I got to admit I love when he tries to talk like Mutombo "Not in my HOUSE"

only seen a few games with calvin so i cant really say i miss him as much as some of you guys here.

i really liked Van he cracked me up....now watch this play...watch this play...and his southern accent make it great

clyde...is like bill walton to me...at first i hated bill walton doing color (heck and I'm a bruin) but then he grew on me and I learnt not to take anything he does seriously and now both of them crack me up considerably when they are doing games.

one of my favorite clyde moments was when they were doing a panda express upcoming schedule of games and clyde started laughing pretty loud and bill asked clyde what was so funny and clyde replied "I had chinese food last night"

    that had me rolling.

he may be terrible at color calling juwan howard a gazelle, but he's our clyde

Man, there were a few times in recent years where I found myself putting the tv on mute because I couldn't stand listening to Clyde. Too bad we can't put Francis out there, I think he'd be hilarious to listen to. I can just see (or hear?) him trying to explain plays that he actually has no knowledge of (even though he should). Ok, maybe Francis would be as bad as Clyde....wait, that's not possible....but he'd be close.

Back to the realy subject. I cannot stand Clyde as a commentator, though he seems like a really genuine person. I really miss the days of Bill and Calvin, those were the best. Someone should start a poll asking if we should bring back Calvin. I bet it would be around 80% saying yes.

Bill is an awesome commentator, I'll be very sad to see him go. In my opinion it looks like this:

    Bill>>>>Calvin>>>>>>>>>>>>Bull>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Clyde.

It's time like these I'm thankful to view most of my games in person.

Van Chancellor didn't even know Hakeem was the all time blocks leader. He was as good as dead to me from that point forward.

Bullard and Drexler are equally awful color men, but Drexler is more comical...even though he doesn't intend to be. Bullard tries way too hard and just comes off as cheesey.

Same here. If he was commentating nationally, SNL would have likely done a skit of him by now.

Shut up! Bull's awesome. The only person that can beat Bull was Dee Brown.

Van Chancellor's voice made me want to murder kittens just so my ears could hear something more pleasant.

Haha, this cracked me up for some reason. Yeah, Bull really needs to be able to control the replays himself. I like his analysis though.

Clyde, eh, he's sort of just comic relief, doesn't add too much depth of insight.

I also didn't catch enough games when Calvin commented. All I remember was his high-pitched voice, weird laugh, and flashy suits.

Bull really struggles with his delivery. It's odd. He's so good at radio.

He can't help it though, he's just not jelafied.

Clyde used to really bother me, but now I love him. He makes me laugh during games and the awkwardness of his lines just cracks me up.

I like all of our announcers a lot... I think Clyde is freaking hilarious and Air Bull is funny too, like how he's always up in the booths eating stuff and ragging on Bill about it; flaunting cookies and what not.

    Clyde for President!!!

Yeah Clyde's funny, not much there though. I like Bullard for his analysis. I've never ahd a problem with the "ok now stop here", probably because I was really enjoying whatever it was he was showing.

I only have vague memories of Calvin, so I can't really speak on that.

I view Matt Bullard as the John Madden of Rockets commentating.

Matt: "See Bill, thats what refs do, they try and get in the best position to make the best call they can make"

Bill: *5 seconds of awkward silence*

Why didn't the Rockets sign Brent Barry to a an extra two years of broadcasting duties after he retires? I know that isn't possible but you know the guy will be a natural on television.

Spend a day imitating Clyde. I bet you'd be happier.
Doesn't it bring a smile to your face to say a Drexlerism?

    "He's 5 for 7, he hasn't missed all night!"
"Nothing but net! [clank, rattle, rattle]"

Yeah, I'd call Clyde an optomist ;)
