If we can trade for or pick up someone who can space the floor, rebound, and be able to guard multiple positions then great. If we can trade players who will outperform Capela and Gordon combo then let’s do that.

However let’s not act like Capela isn’t versatile defensively and his rim running/PNR abilities aren’t part of the reason why the Rockets have been an offensive beast.

Overreacting because a player is fine against the other 28 teams but had a terrible series against GSW seems like a way to make a mistake.

I think his passing can become above average for his position and is a much more realistic improvement than shooting range.

When we ran the high PNR and Utah/GSW would stop Capela near the free one line, he often made the right pass to someone in the corner instead of passing back out to Harden.

I see a lot of picks in there.

I'm not looking to dump Capela and certainly not for picks.
Not unless you know 100% sure ...say like you're acquiring that pick & sending four first round picks to whomever and you're getting their star.

I absolutely agree with you, picks per se means nothing for us, it's not like before we got Harden, at the time made sense to stockpile assets while waiting for a chance to use them, now we need players, and we can't wait. Overall i still like Clint, my idea is to move him for picks etc only if we can get an all star caliber player from a third team, especially if we can get a cheap replacement like DeAndre, otherwise we shouldn't overreact and dump him just because he had a bad series.

i can't stand his mentality and never wanted him back last summer. but knowing morey, he's going to wait until the trade deadline at the earliest because he'll need to build clinty's stock back up before moving him. smh

Capela needs a real coach. He's never had one other than assistant John Lucas AFAIK. When he plays soft, the coach needs to call a timeout immediately, call him over to the bench and challenge him. Doesn't Clint want a 100+ million contract and not an 80 million contract? Coach needs to remind him over and over and over again in practice and during the games how 100+ million players impact and control the game. 'Play harder' is not coaching. Clint needs someone to bench home when he messes up and tell him exactly what he did wrong from either a mechanics or effort perspective. Bench him. Chew him out. Put him right back in until he messes up again. Tough love with X's and O's.

We need to keep Capela around IMHO. 2019 playoffs is a coaching failure not a Clint Capela failure. Probably same thing with Harden too, but not nearly to the same extent.

Seriously, Capela needs a lot of work. Harden made him look spectacular at times. His game is very limited and needs to be expanded. For one, he needs to shoot a thousand freebies a day until he brings up his average. At the line, he is really embarrassing. Bring in Hakeem to teach him at least two scoring moves and shots.

Not too long ago, some are saying Capela is a top 10, top 5ish center.

After a series where he had always match up badly against, his now untradeable? How things have change.
