Last time they closed due to flooding a few months ago, they didn't get an official word until around 9 or 10 AM.
For those planning to come to Austin, avoid it if you can. The roads are bad and what's worse is that it'll warm up just enough tommorrow for rain to fall and then freeze right after to turn it into a layer of ice. Right now we're getting freezing rain and sleet and I can barely walk outside without sliding.
I'm hoping HCC is closed....their website is stupid. Edit: I don't know what this means for UH, but TSU is only postponed until 10:00am. I figured it'd be relevant due to their proximity....unless they mean Texas State University, which I doubt cuz it'd be silly to only postpone classes there seeing as how they're closer to the storm. eh. C'mon, HCC! closecloseclosecloseclose
If classes are closed tomorrow there is a chance that the rec center will still open as scheduled. Students who live on campus are supposed to show up for work on these type of days. You might want to call just to make sure at 713-743-PLAY. That's the welcome desk number.
the sad thing, i remember that day, i remember messing with my cousin who went to school in Fort Bend that he didnt get off that day. He was pissed while I stayed at home and did nothing
I voted against the Rec Center back in '00 or '01, wasn't sure exactly how it would help us "compete with UT or Rice." I just wanna know if the 24-hour computer lab at Social Work is open.

From UH.edu "The University of Houston will be open Tuesday, Jan. 16, and classes will be held as scheduled. Any changes to that status during the day will be posted on the UH front page web site -- uh.edu -- and the campus community will be informed via e-mail." off to work...
