He's easily the best PG in the league and it isn't even close. With that being said he's also one of the top 5 overall players in the league and will have many MVP's under his belt before it is all said and done.

you can never say that. With the crazy voting it seems you have to do it for years and years before you get one. Its all luck and BS which is why players care more about rings than MVP's.

Man Chris Paul is easily the best point guard in the league at the moment and he'll probably continue to be for the next several years. The guy is just so ******* good and this is only his third season! I love his insane floaters and drives and his alley dunks to D West or Chandler.

Hell forget best point guard, talk about best player in the league - he would definitely be top 5, maybe even higher like top 3 (obviously behind Kobe and Lebron). He's probably like my favourite non-Rockets player.

If he could continue with the amazing play next season, the answer is a clear-cut YES.

Wasn't going to give it to him in the regular season, but his two playoff series so far are ending any debate in my eyes. He should have been MVP, and if he can keep this play up, he will be next year. Absolutely the best PG in the game today.

He's ridiculous. Zeke + Stockton if that is even fathomable.

He scores when he needs to, dishes like crazy, his turnovers are always way too low for a guy who is basically the Peyton Manning of his team... and he picks more pockets than anybody else.

If he becomes a shutdown defender and keeps this up for 10-12 years, He will end up one of the best to ever play the game.

Well put. Based on this season, Paul doesn't really need to improve much. He just needs to stay healthy for 10-12 more years and his head will be on Mt. Rushmore (for great NBA PGs). Neither Stockton nor Zeke was ever this good.

Yes, and it is not even close.

Dwill is good, but CP3 is WAY better than he is...way better.

Best PG in the league. If Nash hadn't had those two MVP years, I would say that he's the best in the past 10 years. It will be interesting to look at his career in a few years and see if he can keep it up..or even get better (as he should).

He's incredible. Now, would someone go ahead and blast him in the nuts?

I agree he's the best, but I would prefer that his 3pt % be a touch higher. That's one thing I love about Nash so much, because there's no substitute for a guy who spends a majority of his time handling the ball around the perimeter and can shoot 47% from 3. It makes him an absolutely deadly threat at any moment from any spot on the floor.

Paul's %'s have gone up every year, so it looks promising.

He's been impressive, definitely really good

but i think the hornets starting 5 is quite complete and well-rounded..so i think it helps that he's got good players around him

of course, he's definitely the main factor for their success, but his "role players", if you can call them that, are really good and more than just role players.

i think he and deron are definitely emerging..and possibly, nash + kidd are finishing up

No, Rafer is, since Paul says he wishes he could half as good as him. :D

I agree he is the best pg in the league but even though I hate the Jazz with a passion, Williams is very close. If this was last year CP3 would be right behind Williams. And the Jazz having their grind it out the style, don't always show Williams skills.

Williams also has outplayed CP3 in head to heads over the last 2 seasons. And as far as putting him so high with the career great pgs, thats just wrong. He's been improving and is on a superstar/mvp level now in 08. Let him have at least a 5 year body of work. Then compare him to Magic and Thomas and even Payton. The Kevin Johnson comparisons are the most accurate as Reggie Miller mentioned. KJ would actually be a much bigger star in today's NBA than he was in his career.

i remember watching a duke wake forest game a few years back and seeing paul play and I was like man i wish that guy was on the rockets he is good. but even in my wildest dreams i didnt think he would be this spectacular.

paul has a decent midrange game if he works on his 3% he will be ridiculously complete as a player. right now people still will go under PnR with him but he is just so crafty with the ball and his ability to finish in the paint is amazing. I mean i dont know how 3 teams passed on this guy in the draft. deron williams is a great player dont get me wrong i dont think the jazz are regretting that decision but this guy is a lot better than williams is. The hornets have a good roster but they do not have a roster that was as talent laden as the mavericks, lakers, spurs, suns at all.

best pg in the league? not even an argument, he is. unless derrick rose comes in and does something amazing, i dont see anyone else taking that spot until Paul retires.

best pg ever? debatable the guy has only been in the league for what 3-4 years? its not fair to him or the PG greats who have done it for 10+ years to compare the two.

IMO if I had to start a team with any PG in his prime I would go with Magic without blinking.

How can a player that is alot better, be outplayed by the other player? Take a sample of 8 head to head games from 06-07 and 07-08.

What about a player with this stat line?:

30.8 points, 11.4 assists and 12.5 rebounds per game or
31.4 points per game, and averaging 9.9 rebounds and 11.0 assists per game

Lebron James & MJ are the only players that have come close to what Oscar Robertson did. I don't think a PG has ever been able to live up to seasons like that.
