Is China invading Taiwan inevitable and what will US defend it??

Watched this today. It’s a must-watch to understand the geo-political and resource shortage reasons behind China’s South China Sea movements. It answers the question of this thread, at least for the next decade or so.

I mean any responsible government would say that and believe it. If Taiwan was truly independent they’d be a sitting duck. They need a parent like relationship with a country that has high level naval resources. He said next that the goal is to help China and Taiwan resolve their differences peacefully… so take it how you want but the policy is still the same. Taiwan is one of the few topics where there’s pretty broad bipartisan consensus even in the Senate so not sure why anyone would be trying to make it into one.

I take issue with the bizarre nature of the talking points coming from FoxNews and Tucker Carlson the past few days that somehow Biden is both at the same time working for China and also trying to get us in WW3 with China. Let’s stop taking the bait please. This is the same policy we’ve had for decades.

 

No US Presidency has supported Taiwan's independence. Prior to Nixon they considered the Republic of China (KMT) government in Taiwan as the official government of all of China. After Nixon they considered the PRC government as the official government of all of China with the standing of Taiwan ambigous.

 

It's honestly not that big of a deal. This "show of force" is more for their own people. For the past weeks the Chinese media has been telling its citizens that they will retaliate if Nancy lands in Taiwan, now that it has happened, it has to do in order to save face.

That's why the original tweet you were quoting is from a CCP mouth piece media source.

China is stuck between a rock and a hard place, on one hand it can't afford to escalate this into an actual war, on the other hand it also has to show some kind of response for its credibility internally. I guess the solution they found is just shooting a bunch of ammos into the ocean.

All this will blow over until the next time someone visits Taiwan

Why is anything Fox says not surprising? They aren't real news. Biden loves China, Biden wants war with China. Smear the enemy (The Democrats). You never heard Trump loves China when he kissed their butts to enrich his daughter with all those parents. Deflect from the truth is all Fox does.
