Is Chandler Parsons now the worst defender on the team?

Parsons has regressed defensively but he isn't the worst by far.

 

Jones, Harden (even with playing better lately), and then Parsons among starters.

 

Seems like when in desperation mode, players tend to play good defense with high intensity. Parsons(rookie season - when he was way behind on depth chart without garantee for minutes), Garcia(last year is his contract year)and Beverly(finally got a chance to play in NBA but was on cheap contract with team options - every year on this contract is like his contract year)...

Sometimes I think every player in NBA should be able to play that crazy dog style defense if in desperation mode(The likes of JVG will turn you into that if not).

The problem is it take a toll on your body, so unless it necessary(contract year, playoff, clutch time...) players are simply reluctant/unable to maintain that intensity.

On the other hand, we can still recognize some players with good fundamentals and phisical advantage(PG, DWH...) who are good defenders no matter what.

 

I agree with your current assessment, but I just can't see him as a sixth man. But yeah, his defense needs a complete reboot. I'm wondering if his back is the issue.
