"It's not like they're shopping him," said an East Coast executive. "It's not like they're calling around saying, 'You can have Francis for so-and-so.' But they're definitely wide open to suggestion." http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=72996 The rest of Vescey's article may be suspect but the quotes are legit.
I wouldnt even say they are legit. 1) If this un-named executive says that "its not like they're calling around saying", then that means he called the Rockets. 2) If he called the Rockets and proposed a Francis trade, then its safe to assume that trade was rejected. 3) If 1) and 2) are true, then how does he conclude that CD is "open to suggestion". Based on what?? Based on you calling, asking for Steve and a trade, and being turned down?? Does the mere fact that CD even took your phone call mean he is all of the sudden "open to suggestion"??
In this case, not telling the truth is NOT lying. No way. Rudy used to talk about how much he hated having to 'lie' when it came to possible draftees, trading partners etc, but that it was necessary. Of course CD is talking. To everyone about everyone. It doesn't mean anything is imminent or being chased or whatever. But bet he is talking. Bet his cell bill is built like Shaq!
The above is pure speculation based on a legit quote. Let me be the first to tell you that it is nice to see that you have covered all of the parameters.
