well the team will have more pieces than any time when Tmac was in his prime and be better than the team is now. at minimum just looking at the numbers, Yao will stay, Scola will probably stay, either Brooks or Martin will stay. Battier will stay since he is no good for a rebuilding team. also many of the young guys will stay Houston will lose Budinger almost for sure IMO and probably Brooks. Plus a few other pieces plus picks. the team will still be very strong after any possible realistic deal. unfortunately you're right when you say this **** is probably not going to go down. very possible Houston is primarily leverage and only "in the mix" as opposed to a strong possibility
He's basically indicated he has that mentality by saying he wants to get another star for the team. The fact that it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean that's not his goal. This kind of player doesn't just fall into your lap. I'm sure he's working hard to get Melo, but it isn't all up to him.
good point but his low risk high reward system i think will prevail &we can go for a great player but at the deadline. that is also when denver will trade melo it would kill the fan base if they did it now w/o a G.M.
I don't think he's our last option for a championship this year, but probably our best. I know some will laugh but I think Prince would give us a pretty sizable boost, especially if we could do it without trading away our best players (like we would with Carmelo). PG: Brooks SG: Martin SF: Prince PF: Scola C: Yao Prince has long been considered the second best perimeter defender after Shane Battier. He's also twice the offensive player of Battier.
We just need a small forward period. A good one. I just think neither Brooks or Martin are capable of taking the game over... at least not consistently...
