In a sign and trade, I would hope we have enough assets other than our 20ppg point guard to attract Toronto's interest; especially considering the deal we just made where The Rockets absolutely stockpiled "future considerations".
There was sarcasm to my comment...I was just making the point that Bynum is more gifted defensively, therefore, holding him to 10 points really isnt much of an accomplishment.
Exactly...we can get Bosh without giving up Brooks...Scola, Battier (expiring contract), 2 first round picks...Championship.
I am sure there fans will be happy with expiring contracts and 2 first round picks for there all star player.
Granger started at PF, with Dunleavy playing the 3...Murphy was the center and was guarded by Bargnani.
And Scola, who is a very good player. They can take that deal and prepare for the future...or they can get nothing in return.
David West 21/12 Rashard Lewis 24/5 Tim Duncan 21/12 Amare Stoudemire 30/8 Dirk 29/9 All shot at least 50% Guys he shut down JJ Hickson Boris Diaw Luc Mbah a Maute Josh Boone Antawn Jamison
Ive done a ton of research on Bosh since Morey hinted at him coming here. I read their fan forums, watch the games, etc. Cherry picking games and looking at opposing PF's is pointless, unless you have watched the games and know exactly how the mathcups are played out. Toronto is not a good defensive team, but Bosh is the best of the bunch defensively and gives the most effort. Is he a lockdown bigman...no, but he is also playing along side Bargs so he is forced to guard out of position most of the time. Guarding his position and playing the role of weakside shotblocker would greatly improve his effectiveness as a defender. He may not be a lock down defender, but he is a mobile athletic big who would be an upgrade defensively over Scola, with just on height alone. To say he is soft or whatever is stereotyping and misinformation. He added 15 pounds of muscle in the offseason. People keep saying Yao is a great post defender....he isnt. Yao is a huge defensive presence because he is a 7'6 obstruction between the ball and the basket, which deters alot of easy baskets. While this is a nice luxury, there are numerous other shortcomings in his defense that hurt the team, such as PnR defense and containing perimeter bigmen. Bringing in a guy like Bosh who can fill those voids just makes sense.
Bosh was playing against Dwight Howard that game...not Rashard. Dwight still scored 20, but again, I never said that Bosh shuts people down. Dwight did have 9 turnovers that game though. The other game that Bosh played against Stoudemire, Amare scored 18/7...so you can look at two sides of the story there. And the other time he played Dirk, he held him to 19 points and 3 rebounds...both well below Dirks average. And Duncan going off for 21 and 12...he's done that against every PF in the league.
I like how you say Yao isn't a great post defender and then use examples that have nothing to do with post defense. And how would Bosh fill those voids? Take Utah for example....Boozer and Okur. If you're saying that Bosh would guard Okur, then that would leave Boozer open for an uncontested mid-range jumper.
Have you ever seen Yao guard Boozer? I can't imagine how Bosh could possibly be any worse. That series was a god damn nightmare.
Yeah, we match-up awful when we play the jazz. Hopefully, boozer will be on another team so that we can put bosh on okur, if he resigns... then we better hope we don't match up with them in the playoffs.
