I think Bosh is better than Scola, but how much better, that is the question.

Is it 6 points and 3 rebounds better, and we have to give up Scola and Brooks to get that?

To me that is not all that good of an upgrade, and seems like a static move.

    -4 years younger.
-Takes the pressure off of Yao so we don't have to play him heavy minutes.
-Gives us someone who can legitimately replace Yao's production when Yao finally gives out.
    -Is far better offensively.
    -Shot blocking.
    -Defense.

Agreed, but giving up Brooks and Scola makes us stronger at one position and significantly weaker at another.

Bosh gives the Rockets height and a 20PPG scorer in case something happens to Yao.

We all love Luis, but, he's not a go to guy. Nor somebody that can bang bodies with legit bigs on D

If Bosh was more like KG pre injury then yes he's a upgrade from scola but he's not.

As long as I love Scola as someone else does, Bosh is the one who can help us to win a NBA title, not Scola. You go for him if you have a chance to get Bosh, but the problem is that Bosh has to say Houston is the place he wants to go before any other things can happen. It is not about what you want, it is about what you can get.

I responded to the other guy but I'll respond to you too.

Bosh is younger and is perfect Yao insurance. Do you want next year's success to depend on Yao? What about the next 5? Even if Yao doesn't play a minute next year, getting Bosh makes us instant contenders. Without Bosh and Yao (god forbid) we would be a decent team.

Scola and Brooks is too much. But what if it were Brooks, Battier, and picks?

Hmmmm....I think they would want Scola, if they are giving up a PF, they would want one back.

I would do: Scola, Lowry, and picks.......or Scola, Ariza and Picks.

But Scola and Brooks to me is just too much.

No, I do not want next year's team dependent upon Yao, but if he is part of the picture than fine.

If what you say is true, then why not trade Yao for Bosh?

Who said anything about giving up both of them? We either give them Brooks and Scola becomes the back up PF. Or we give them Scola and keep Brooks. If they want both...yeah I'm not so sure about that.

Here's a question. Suppose we have a choice between getting Amare while giving up Scola (much like the trade we almost did this year), or getting Bosh while giving up Brooks. Which do you do? Obviously in both scenarios other players are involved, but those are the key pieces.

    I'm not so sure.

I tend to agree, but I would REALLY thing about it before declining.

Well that would be an upgrade, but we can get him for much, much less. It would be foolish to put Yao on the talbe if we could very realistically keep him.

Btw I do think Yao is going to come back and have a good year next year. Im just saying we need someone who can take the load off of him offensively and defensively. Someone who is not 6'6"

I know we're not going to agree in regards to brooks, but the last time the mavs went to the finals and won 67 games, who was the pg?

If they want a PF, I'd throw in Jordan Hill. His development is not important if we get to keep Bosh and Scola. I think Toronto would laugh at a Scola/Ariza offer.

Can't the rox just SnT with Raptors using Yao as the main piece?

Brooks/Martin/Bosh now thats a trio that I love to see.

Yao to Toronto would be a good fit. It is a big market and international city.

Surround them with Battier or Ariza at one wing and then a starting defensive minded center like Przbilla...and away you go.
