Is Bradford really worth 48 million more than McCoy?

I'm not necessarily a fan of Colt nor do I think he'll be some amazing pro...but how long did he play in that championship game? Do you honestly believe that was long enough to declare those his "true colors"? Alabama had a great defense...they could have made any collegiate quarterback look less than stellar for a quarter or so. I think going off what you saw in that game is pretty silly.

my question is why do people hate for players to get over. if you were in that position you'd take the money. so get off their jocks. that's the structure.

I am trying to figure out if you are just dumb or stupid.....because it is certainly one of the two.

It was not about risking anything, it was about him not being able to throw the danged ball.

    Dumb or stupid, you choose.
I do Behad, and I also remember typing it in fun.....as a "Way over the top" type of statement.

However, people lose context over time.

Who is blaming Bradford for taking the money? I mean who wouldn't take the money?

I love ya, DD, but sometimes you make this waaay too easy:

It was definitely NOT an over-the-top statement taken out of context.

In DD's slight defense... the 2000 NBA Draft was one of the worst drafts professional sports has ever seen.

The level of competition in college basketball in the late 90s must have been at an all-time low, because boy did those players all suck in the NBA.

The only one to have true success in that draft class was Michael Redd, that's pretty sad.

so is the rookie structure really going to be fixed this summer? originally I thought it was, but then when I heard some vets talk about it, I was surprised to hear that not everyone wanted the fix. I personally believe that the NFL desperately needs an NBA-type slotting system for rookies.

Yes it was, I had just been accused of being over the top in an earlier thread, so I went with it on Langhi.

Now Fizer.....I 100% thought he was going to be great, I will give you that one, he had the size and game, just not the mindset.

Having an NFL arm helps, but it's not the only thing that can make or break an NFL QB. Colt does have a lot of things he needs to overcome (size, arm strength, spread offense knowledge, etc...). But he also has a ton of intangibles that helped him from being a completely unknown 3* QB out of west Texas to the most accurate and most winningest QB in the history of college football.

And who cares if the Browns view him as a project? Do you think the Patriots drafted Brady in the 6th thinking he'd their starter and SB winning QB? I'm not saying Colt will be like Brady, but there have been a ton of good players who probably weren't expected to do a whole lot when they were drafted.

As far as the thread topic, I don't care if it was Suh or Bradford, no rookie is worth that much cash.

I don't think Colt McCoy possesses anything required to be an NFL QB, I've never seen anything from him that has made me think he has any NFL future. He was a fine college QB, so was Jason White.

I heard the same things said about Joe Montana coming into the NFL that you hear about Colt McCoy.

Not saying he will be as good, but so many people write others off before they get a shot.

McCoy is an average QB without ideal NFL size to see over the line, a subpar arm, decent accuracy but NFL speed will kill him, at least he does have a little mobility.

I just don't see his little 3 step drop dump offs to Jordan Shipley running the slant translating well onto the NFL gridiron.

Moes, of course not, but you are assuming that is all he is capable of doing.

I think he is a lot better than that, let's see how it develops.

Colt McCoy is gonna have a better and more consistent NFL career than Sam Bradford. Book it!

You have no idea how much this post pisses me off.

I don't mind people doubting his talent or ability to play in the NFL, but to accuse him of not having the heart or desire to play...
