I've seen evidence that players are tired of getting shut down by Bowen and figure if they all get together, form a choir and whine to the press they can shut him down. Strange all of a sudden all these guys coming out simultaneously. Kind of makes you wonder if maybe they talked it over.

Yes, Vince Carter, in the midst of using Bruce Bowen like a cracked-up ho, wages a media war against him so Bowen will bend over even further the 2 times they play each other next season. Makes sense.

Bowen is a dirty little b**ch, much in the vein of Stockton and Malone...except he isn't anywhere near as good.

And the Spurs fans - who love to cry how 'classy' they are - are tripping over themselves trying to find ways to defend him. Funny.

For those that are claiming Bowen is not dirty...
Who do you guys consider dirty then?
    Anybody?

Vince Carter and Michael Finley were abusing Bruce Bowen when he resorted to dirty tactics. Finley killed Bowen two weeks ago and was in the middle of killing him again when Bowen kneed him in the groin. I think it is much more likely that Bowen has to become a dirty player when guys are tearing him up, then an NBA conspiracy against BRUCE BOWEN.

So, let me see if I have this straight. If the Rox tanked 14 years earlier then it is OK for the Spurs to have tanked, and still be called a classy organization?

Stockton, Malone, Bowen - if you can't beat 'em, call 'em dirty.

I'd like to see someone "whoops Bowen's a**", since the guy is a licensed brown belt in some form of martial arts. So whomever the potential asskicker is ... good luck buddy.

    Thanks for the advice.

Now, I'll toss the brick again because this is not a comparative. This is not even contemporary with each other.

The Spurs are a classy organization, so it is said. I say they have one of the classiest of NBAers in TD and had another until the retirement of DR but that the organization is not a class act because of how the organization was able to put those two class acts together.

I fail to see a connection with Les Alexander's Rockets. I fail to see a correlation of the level of class of the SA organization to Sampson/Olajuwan.

Enjoy the Spurs all you want, but please don't preach to me about the Rox organization of 20 years ago and don't tell me about the purity of soul of Papavich today. It just does not wash.

    Totally agree.

So, you are just a fan of Alexander's Rockets and not the Rockets of the 80s? I fail to see why you fail to see the correlation. You are accusing the Spurs of tanking. I am saying that we were tanking too. In fact, I would say (without any proof) a lot of teams would tank if given the opportunity and a good chance of a great result. I am in no way defending the Spurs. I fact, I am kinda ashame of how the Rockets got Sampson/Olajuwon. That's why I said I cringe whenever someone brings up the issue of tanking.

I just feel that accusing another team of doing something when your own team did the same is a bit hypocritical.

Let's be clear. Tanking done by any team in any sport is rotten. At no point am I defending the Rox for tanking.

What I am saying is that tanking is not justified by one team even if another did it. What I am also saying is that Alexander's Rockets is a different organization from Thomas' Rockets. Gotta admit, I liked the old organization better. That group brought the championships, evoked the emotions. Sure they tanked twenty years ago. That was twenty years ago. I don't see the relevance to players playing today and players (mostly) retired for years and years.

Hey check out Yao taking a nasty spill to the hardwood after Bowen intentionally trips him up.
