just watch all the good teams especially last night, what do they all do? they just lock in on harden because everyone else relies on him to get them a shot. not sure why its so hard for you to see this. turnovers can be reduced significantly if you had trustworthy ball handlers. thats the point of having one.
Problem with Bev is, he needs to start making a shot for himself.. He always just mindlessly dribbling then just hand it off to Harden. Like, he ALWAYS does this.. He does ever try to beat his defender and score. Just dribble, Dribble, dribble .. oh here you go Harden.
Ofcourse. I'm not sure why you've singled out Beverley for this though When you have a dynamic scorer you need to space the floor. The problem is we take the most 3's in the NBA, but collectively SUCK at shooting them. The problem is our halfcourt sets are SUPPOSED to generate open shots, but do the opposite. The problem is our team defense & rebound has been lazy and half hearted, causing defensive let downs. Having Dragic will generate a few more points, but I'm sure how you feel this will MAGICALLY solve all the team problemS
if the majority of your starting lineup consists of defensive players and defense is still your glaring problem above all else then there is seriously something wrong then.
I posted this a while ago in the game thread from last night in reply to a post by Hakeemtheking: I agree that Bev should be coming off the bench (which I saw implied in your post), not starting at the one. That would be the ideal role for him, unless we have to move Pat in a deal at the deadline. I think averaging 31 minutes a game is too much for the guy, at least since his injury last season. Bev hasn't been quite the same since. Maybe if he was playing closer to 20 minutes a game, he'd be more effective. I think so.
I never mentioned Dragic, my point is about Beverly. For the defensive prodigy that he is made out to be, the PGs in the league are already starting to burn him on a regular basis. Yeah, defensive lapses for sure. He's lost his step, his motivation, etc. He's just not producing like we need him to. He just a bench player, and would be better suited to that role.
Outside of McHale Bev is the 2nd biggest issue . His D has been pretty bad this year give or take a few games and his offense has been non existent all year. He doesn't force guys to guard him and exert themselves on D.
He is a cornerstone in Denver. Not going anywhere, and Houston doesn't have the potential to interest Denver anyways. Even with Dragic, this team is playing the same predictable 3 and D strategy. It's a recipe for failure with McHale and they will get exposed TIME AND TIME AGAIN.
That's what LOFs used to say. Also, this board is incredibly fickle.....only two and a half month ago Bev was deemed the perfect Harden complement, a defensive gamechanger, etc...Now he just sucks. LOL
wow the blazers lost to the celtics in portland. lillard sucks, they should trade him for marcus smart
