When Artest is out there without T-mac not much has changed with him.

good comment. Artest is really athletic. He needs to control the ball and create shooting himself. But in the present system of Rockets, most of the time he is forced to shoot, so he loses rhythm.

artest is a worse offensive player right now than tracy on one knee. that tells you a lot.

tracy shoots better than artest overall, from 3s, free throws... that's not a good sign if you're ron artest.

ron is learnin the rox system, gettin in game shape. has to get used to bein more of a standstill shooter. shoudlnt be this bad, specially when he played for rick in sactown. he really needs to get out of this slump and of corse hes gonna do that.

We are at our best offensively when Tmac is attacking and finding the open man. Right now he is simply not doing that and everyone is suffering because of it. He is supposed to be our superstar player paid superstar bucks. Right now he is a liability on both ends. The only points he is getting are because of his height or the superstar calls he gets going to the basket.

He should just sit if this is how he's going to play. This is Tracy at his worst. Such an enigma. When he is right, he is one of the best....some days he just kills your team. It's really hard to watch.

Artest's role in the offense isnt nearly as big as Mcgrady's and his pay check speaks to that.....For the money, Mcgrady is by far the worst guy out there.

Oh, I get it. Artest shooting like crap is TMac's fault.
Maybe Rafer should demand to be traded because Tmac makes him shoot like that.
And, and, Brent Barry missing wide open 3s. Got to be that Tmac guy. Damn, we all suck because of him.

im not putting it all on tmac, but he's paid twice as much as artest and the team has been built around him and his fat paycheck. When he plays poorly, the whole team plays poorly.

Its not like everyone on the team is paid the same....He's paid superstar money to play like a superstar, right now he is playing like a scrub.

did you see how tracy only played 29 minutes and our offense was still "stagnant?"

oh yea, tracy's presence on the bench made the offense sucks too.

it's unbelievable the types of things people write on here.

dude is putting his heart out there by playing when he's not even fully healthy. yao misses a game from probably a minor roll of an ankle (imagine if tracy did that with a roll of an ankle what kind of reaction he would generate).

yes he's struggling and highly inconsistent right now. but let the man play through it. he's trying to play through it. he's frustrated with what he's done so far, just like the rest of us.

do you really think tracy likes playing the way he's playing right now, so ordinary most of the time?

how did he play like a scrub tonight? if you take out the 2 unnecessary 3s that he took b/c we were behind, he was 5-12 with 16 pts in 29 minutes.

he was the leading scorer playing just 29 minutes.

and it's not like tracy is the only one playing below expectations. yao and artest are also playin below expectations. the entire team is struggling right now.

Artest is good, but not as good as we espect.

Honestly, Yao and T-mac are not as good as last year.

The rockets team is not in the championship winner line.

Mcgrady's points came on long threes and trips to the free throw line. As the best player on the team, we need him to make everyone else better, and he cant do that right now. Those shots he is taking arent going to fall every night, and he is getting burned on the defensive end. Terry and Kidd had several wide open uncontested shots because of his poor defense.

Artest is ranked 2nd from the bottom on NBA.com's FG% leaders who qualify (not sure of their criteria, dont see Rafer on it)

But look at those names. Some All Stars and pretty good players on it. Interestingly I dont see any power forwards and centers in it.

Artest seemed to me a good midseason pickup guy, someone who boosts a team with a spark of toughness and tenacity. Things should even out though. Might be in too deep a hole already to get his shooting to his career average, but as long as he plays to his averages from here on out thats acceptable

I'm going to say this a lot, but please cut the bandwagoning. You people aren't real fans for bashing around. Just be patient and reasonable.

To The OP:paul Peirce isn't the fastest guy in the world either... but he makes it happen. Same with Artest.

Artest might be slow in speed, but his Basketball speed and playing tempo is up there.
