And, there probably isn't a game 5 to discuss last year if Derek Jeter doesn't make one of the more improbable plays in baseball history. To imply that the A's can't be considered on the Yankees playing field because of that play is very, very silly. It's the same scenario as the Lakers fans who think that the Kings can't compete with them because of Game 7, when in reality everyone knows that the circumstances that got the series to that game were improbable and unlikely to ever be repeated.

Bringing up "game 5 meltdowns" only provides evidence for that specific game, not an entire series. If past evidence is so important (I don't think it is), it tells me that the Yankees are going to have to get one of the best plays of the century just to get to that game 5.

Why exactly does that have any bearing on who's the better team this season?

4-0 in the first inning?? SWEET!!!

I heard on ESPN today that on Monday's game (a holiday, no less)... the A's home game only had a paltry 26,000 attendance!!! Man, how depressing for the players... What more can they do on the field (and no, solving the steroid issue, revenue sharing, firing Bud Selig don't count...) i mean they are in the midst of making history and still have such a lousy draw? too bad. i wish i lived in oakland right about now...
