I think this team needs time to gel as well. The Lakers have been together for a while now. This team just needs to figure things out. The second unit is so much better than the first and that needs to change. We need Battier back, Ron to come off the bench, and while we're figuring things out, I'd like to see Aaron Brooks in the starting lineup. I think tonights effort has hardly anything to do with Adelman though.

Firstly, its RA's "Adelman offense", not mine.

Secondly, the point is that the second unit consistently try to play the way they have been taught, unlike the starters who consistently resort to poorly executed isos and pick n rolls.

I didn't say the second unit was particularly successful and of course you're not going to beat NBA teams with Head and Hayes leading the way.

Regardless, the lead was lost on the defensive end, not the offensive end and your comment about the Thunder, is just asinine.

yeah he was obviously responsible for the 22 game winning streak which salvaged the season.

The vaunted starters ended up 15/51. Take away Yao, and they were 9/40. It is very hard to win when your starters stink it up.

The truth is TJack has never been efficient as a Rocket and now he just keeps hoisting. Occasionally, he'll have a good game, but those come less and less frequently. Scrubola can't finish, Yao is soft, Alston is one of the worst shooters and finishers among PGs in the NBA. If it weren't for the bench, we would have lost this game by 50.

I love borat, but...you're way off base.

I mean, he did pattern our offense, choose who played, choose when people played, choose which plays to run, called timeouts when he saw fit, and, with the help of his assistants, mastermind our defensive schemes on a game by game basis. He also fomented good chemistry, managed expectations, helped the team stay hungry, and got everyone to stay committed despite a 15-17 start. And he did half of it without Yao. The players gave certainly gave rick a lot of credit, as did every reasonable pundit, as did coach of the year voters...

If your argument is that rick played no role in out 22 game streak, that dog won't hunt.

My review of RA as a coach:

Yes, it bothered me last year and it bothers me this year. I never liked coaching remaining this calm when we're blown out of the building. JVG & Rudy T would be screaming and guiding from the sidelines, RA is just sitting here watching it all happen with his gazed look. The rotations are not based on who's performing, but on instinct or whatever. It seems RA is more like a guy who directs his players and if they choose to do it their own way, he's fine with it. JVG called a time-out the moment things went wrong and told them to do what he wanted them to do. JVG was strong as a coach, RA is more soft in his approach. We will never run RA's offense, we never have. During the 22 game winning streak we just clicked, move the ball better, shot the ball better and played great D. RA should call for some plays or else the Rockets are going to fall deep. I think it will be in best interests for both the tean and RA that RA is relieved of his duties. We don't have the personell for RA's offense and these guys need a guy like JVG, a fierce coach who tells them what to do.

    You blame Rick for this?

How about Tracy? I don't think I've seen him go to the basket instead of jacking up shots. He doesn't move. He just isos. Seriously... I had flashbacks of the Rudy T era with Artest and Tracy. Iso. Iso. Iso.

    No movement, at all.
