Nothing never charged even tho both me and my ex(who is a elementary teacher) wanted to... In part because of two reasons, first being that right before they showed up i got scared and tried to run(mistake), and two, they called the cops on me.....
I feel terrible for you, and I'm sure many others here would have done the same in the same situation... but weren't there any witnesses? how come your girl didn't press charges for some sort of assault or public display of indecency? did they deny their involvement in the incident? did you beat one them to a bloody pulp with a tire iron or something?
No, but only because I was a Juvie Assault with a deadly weapon along with misdemeanors of simple assault & carrying a concealed weapon. Didn't really do much. Confronted a kid that had been stealing from me. Ultimately couldn't go through with kicking his ass, because he had been a friend, so I let him go. Started walking away. He starts running at me to hit me from behind. I turn around, and he stops dead in his tracks. I pull my pocket knife out of my pocket and look at. Dude runs home. I walk to where I can see his house to make sure he goes all the way home. Put the knife back in my pocket, tun to leave and am stopped by a lady who calls the police. Nothing like felony assault in which you nobody even gets hit.

To the original poster, Why did you enter a plea bargain to such a charge ? Was there a weapon involved ?
Can vary between state, but yes. Usually though, a felony level assault usually involves something more. I was guilty by the letter of the law. It just sucks that I could have beaten him up, and actually not gotten in trouble at all. Probably ended up better for me as I haven't been in a fight since.
similar to juicystream, I was hit with assault charges at age 15 and pled no contendre for a deferred adjudication and 1 year juvenile probation. some little punks (younger than me) were setting booby traps on the sidewalk- I'm riding my bike and almost hit one of their contraptions- so i bullied some little kids around and they go home and tell mommy and daddy that I pulled a knife on them. the next day, cops are canvassing the area and here I come riding the exact same route on the exact same bike. they stop me , search me, identify me, and left me on my way. the next day the cops show up at my doorstep. they used a local yearbook and visited the families. the kids identify me and both parents press full charges. my own parents, terrified of what would happen if a judge or jury believed the boys testimony, took the plea deal for a crime I never committed. i spent the next year and a half in court and (juvi) probation. I would bring my report card and paystubs to every meeting. I was made to attend an anti violence group meeting in the middle of 5th Ward, with the finest young criminals Houston had to offer at the time. no jackets were allowed inside. yeah I've got a chip on my shoulder to this day about it. wish I could write those families a letter if I had their info.
He probably had a public defender. My friend got in a situation where he started the first contact but paid a lawyer 10k and only got probation.
there are felony as well as misdemeanor dui's. number of offenses and whether an accident where injury or death occurred are taken into account...
Strange you woild get a felony for auch a petty crime... surprised you didnt get a misdemeanor petty theft... either you had a criminal history or it was one helllll of a bike...
