People wake up, you seriously overrate this Mavs team. Name me one, one championship team in recent memory that this mavs team could beat in a 7 game series and don't give me SA because this Spurs team they beat this year has gotten old and just isn't the same team it was. If you actually believe there is any championship team in YEARS and YEARS that they could have beaten, then frankly you are falling for all this "new NBA" crap and catchy marketing. BTW Detroit has 1 title and doubtful they win another one with this group and they were a MUCH better team when they won than Dallas is now, so let's not get carried away with annointing the mavs as a dynasty. People seem to have lost persoective, overrating the Mavs underrating the Rockets, and like I said this series is far from over, and the Heat are one of the weaker teams in years to win a title too if they win it. This is a FAR cry from the Bulls, Lakers, Pistons (bad boys or new team) old Lakers/Celts, Dream's Rockets, previous Spurs teams, Sixers team from 83......... Really don't even try to argue that.
The announcers were sucking Dampier's dick so hard near the end of the third quarter I had to mute the TV to avoid throwing something through it.
I have had to put up with the rants from a guy named Chuck Cooperstien here in Dallas that has always made the argument that the Rockets were not the best team in the NBA in 95 since we had such a bad record going into the play-offs and we did not have to face our achillies heel...Seattle. He said we got hot and lucky all at the same time but that we clearly were not the best team. It has always irritated the hell out of me when people say that we did not have a real championship in 94 since Jordan was not in the league that year. We were the best team in the NBA that year...period. I will not be such a hypocrite and do the same thing to the Mavs that I have defended the Rockets against. If the Mavs win this year they are the best team in the NBA...period and the includes my favorite team, the Rockets. If the Rockets were up 2-1 in the finals this year I have a hard time believing that you would be qualifing this championship by saying we were overratted. If the Mavs win this series then they are the best team in the NBA until someone else proves otherwise. They are the team we need to beat and I don't see how that is overratting them.
im just glad because i can walk in to work tomorrow and know that dallas still doesn't have a trophy.
Miami winning should mean a lot to us...they are probably the most comprable team to us as far as structure goes. An all-star center and a phenomenal scorer. JVG is one of Riley's former assistants, and they are very similar. We just need to find a third scorer, and tweak a couple of other things and I think we are on our way. Yao is twice the player Shaq is, and Tracy can be pretty damn close to Wade when he's healthy. You look at their role players...Haslem, Walker, Posey, J.Williams, Payton, and Zo...obviously where we need work. We need an efficient PF, a slasher that can shoot fairly well and play defense, and a PG that can hit the open shot. We might have the PF if Swift pans out. The draft will land us either the slasher or the PG I think...so maybe we can find the other in free agency. The important thing is that the two players or so that we add can hit the open shot and take some of the pressure off on offense for Tracy and Yao.

I enjoyed watching Dallas sulk its way through the closing minutes of Game 6. I felt like screaming at the TV, "That's what you get for being a bunch of whining crybabies." I admit, I'm biased against Dallas as a city... but it seems to me that Cuban's character (or lack thereof) mirrors that of much of Dallas: poor winners and poor losers. I'll grant that does <b>not</b> apply to all folks in Dallas... but enough people in Dallas seem to fit that mold to make me sour on the city and the NBA franchise for a long time to come.
The Mavs are the most mentally weak team in the history of the NBA playoff and Dirk is overatted where his success was from the result of the mavs deep bench... thats pretty much has been the story of the Mavs in the last 7 yrs.
