Y are you on clutchfans if you are a dallas fan. Are you a rox fan also? I would NEVER affiliate myself to the Mavs.

I am actually rooting for the Heat for 3 reasons:

    1. It will prove the "inside outside" game is still effective. Our Duo of Yao and TMac is just as good as D-Wade and Shaq when healthy.

    2. Shaq will have less excuses next season when him and Yao matchup during the regular season and then (hopefully) again in the Postseason! :D

    3. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from that ugly game seven loss to the Mavs in 05.

As long as this team is healthy it will be an improvement from this past year!

Heres to a healthy and productive for the Rockets in 06-07! :)

how the mavs beat us last season wasn't close. they beat us in 6.5 games. how they beat the spurs this year was pretty damn close though.

dirk has really impressed me. i think if they played the rockets this season, they would still beat us. i still want to see a rematch though.

I'm a Mavs fan first, but I also love the other two Texas teams. If Dallas goes fishing, I root for whoever's left which is usually San Antonio.

Besides, I like Head. Luther Head that is.

Just chill, buddy. Our season sucked. Big deal. There's always next season. Right now I just don't give a damn on how the others are doing. Whoever win the final is not our business. I could care less.

Off season, golf season. There's a lot other fun besides NBA.

Nope. The Rockets were up 2-0, down 3-2, tied 3-3, lost 4-3

You know this series is far from over.

I would absolutely shocked if Miami didn't come back at least to extend the series with the next 3 games in Miami.

And if anyone believes the series will be reffed the same way for Wade and Shaq in Miami they are in a dream world.

Also Pat Riley is one of the best coaches ever at making adjustments.

This series is far from over.

Now with that being said I am not saying Miami will win, just that annointing the Mavs is quite foolish at this point.

As to the difference between the Mavs and Rockets well if the Mavs win isn't that good nes for the Rockets?

I don't understand how everyone thinkg the Mavs are so superior to the Rockets?

A healthy Yao (especially the new version), a healthy T-Mac, a good pick at #8, a good signing with the MLE or the Moochie TE or hopefully both (doubtful though with Moneyball Morey and Cheap Les), and I really can't see any reason why the Rockets would not beat this Dallas team and if they do win the title that has to be encouraging.

Maybe I'm mistaken here but where exactly does all this praise come for other team's players? So many people really think 3-15 no one on the Rockets roster could even make the Mavs.........

Well SERUIOSlY there are plenty of MEDIOCRE to even bad players on the Mavs.

I don't GIVE A DAMN what anyone says.

    Van Horn sucks
    Dampier sucks
    Daniels is average at best
Harris sucks (has a little potential though)
    Armstrong sucks at this point
    Diop is ok that's it
Griffin is sub-par other than defense

I'm sure I;m leaving some out in the same category.

The Rockets are NOT fare off at all, mainly because when healthy they have two of the top 10 players in the league who let's be frank here, BOTH are better than Dirk, T-Mac is better than Wade, T-Mac is better than Shaq, Yao is better than Shaq, and Yao if he plays like he did to close out the year is even better than Wade himself.

So two top 10 players becomes two top 5 players if T-Mac is back healthy and Yao is the new Yao from here on out.

People are getting way too pessimisitic after this year. I mean the Rockets won 34 games with lineups straight out of the NBDL..........

That's because Yao on a diseased toe and 65 percent T-Mac still brought the team to a 21-10 record and that was with a lot of other players injured and Sura didn't even play.

The Rockets are very close provided they don't mess up the draft and the MLE.

I think we should all be happy that Shaq won't get another ring. The media would then be lofting him up above many players that were greater than he....including Hakeem, etc.

I don't care for Cuban nor the Mavs. But at least we won't have to listen to more ridiculous Shaq quotes.....or new nicknames like the Big Aristotle, the Big blah blah blah....he'll just be the big loser. :)

    That makes me most happy.

Keith Van Horn, if he could stay healthy, is an extremely valuable asset for Dallas, and would be for many teams. He's another big shooter out on the perimeter that, when he gets hot, can change the face of a game.

Dampier - well, you're right. He sucks. :) A big stiff.

Marquis Daniels is a very serviceable player on both ends of the floor.

Devin Harris sucks? Do you really think so? I think that Harris can really play. He's super fast off the dribble, and at times has been nearly unstoppable when he penetrates. He's good at the line, so he gets his points. I just think he is a bit overlooked and inconsistent because of all the other firepower the Mavs have on offense.

Armstrong is just old, but he still has the ability to bring a spark off the bench, especially on the defensive end. If nothing else, he can harass the opposing team's PG for a while.

Diop is a good defensive center. He's getting better with his timing and his rebounding. But as of right now, he's a very good shot blocker. He reminds me of Mutombo's early years, but with less offensive ability (if that's possible).

Griffin is just Griffin. He plays hard, plays his role, and then returns to the bench. The thing I like about Griffin is that, even coming off the bench as cold as a player can be.....he'll still hit the open shot, and still penetrate and get some points here and there. We all forget....Griffin almost won rookie of the year and averaged double figure scoring just a few years ago with the Celtics. He still has some game left in the tank.

Van Horn sucks. Harris overrated, Luther is better than he is.

Daniels is like I said ok, he's average. In all honestly he's not even close to as good as a healthy Bob Sura.

And Van Horn DOES suck. Rockets fans complain about Juwan's D and soft play............well Van Horn takes it to a new level.

Obviously Rockets fans are holding Rockets players to a different standard than they are the players on other teams.

I am a Rockets fan. I dislike the Mavs greatly. I just see NO objectivity in your assessment. I like your enthusiasm though...in a strange, negative sort of way. :) I'll agree with your defensive assessment of Van Horn. He's not very adept at that end of the court. But offensively, he's still very potent.

Sura? Why do you compare him to Daniels? They play completely different games and positions. Sura is a capable player, but he's peaked already. Daniels has some upside, being very young, and is a good defender, has a good midrange game, and is also a good slasher and finisher.

I don't know what you've been watching concerning Harris, but he's taken over games for stretches for the Mavs.

Trust me, I hate it too....but the Mavs are pretty good at every position. They're deep too.

Now, I think Mark Cuban sucks. :D

Truth is, I HATE THE MAVS!!!! I HATE THE SPURS!!!

I"M A MOTHER FREAKIN HOUSTON ROCKETS FAN! HEAR ME ROAR!!

I'll never forget what the Mavs did last year, EVER!

I'll never forget what the Spurs have did to us in recent years!! EVER!!

I'll never forget what the Steelers and Broncos did to the Oilers! EVER!

Who on the Rockets CURRENT team outside of Yao, TMac, Deke, Raefer maybe and possibly Head could crack the Mavs roster?

Dampier, Diop are both good back up centers in the right situation. Deke could crack those two.

Could Luther crack their rotation? Maybe...Maybe not. Harris is quicker than Luther and gets the ball up the court better than Luther. Harris was a pivitol player in the Spurs series.

You can't even mention Sura because 1. he is old and injured 2. he may never play in the NBA again. The Sura of 2 seasons ago could play on that team but who knows about the Sura of today.

All of the players you mention play a role on the Mavs team and do so good enough that they are all rotation players on a team that has won a ton of games and likely going to win the championship. The proof is in the pudding as the saying goes.

A healthy TMac and a healthy Yao along with a good off-season and I think we are contenders but once again the Mavs have proven it year in and year out the Rockets have not.

I think the door is open for us to have a banner off season but Les has to be willing to spend a little money. Will he?

I'm right there with you and the thread starter, it probably the worst thing ever having to listens to this Mavs Bull*&#$ day and nite.

I can never root for the Mavs and hate them with a passion, same goes for the Jazz and Lakers

Yet, at the end of the day, it may well be this group of "mediocre" players that "suck" who will be wearing championship rings while our Rockets will be saying "wait until next year"...again. Maybe Dampier will let Yao try on his new ring the next time they meet.

You know maybe if we ALL keep saying this just as hard as we can, maybe - just MAYBE - the rest of the league will start to believe it as well. We get them thinking like us then we will be on our way...somewhere.

Now why do you suppose that would happen? After all don't we have a terrific front office that has been right on the mark for all these years? Why, CD, our illustrious GM, is widely admired through the league for his shrewd ability to locate and find superior NBA talent. In fact, under his stewardship, the Rockets today find themselves in the most lofty of places: number 8 in the 2006 NBA Draft Lottery. Definitely, our cup runneth over...

If you think things are bad now, just wait until they win the championship. Mark Cuban's smirking mug will be plastered everywhere! There will be no living with him and Billy Hayes and Randy Galloway and all of the doorknobs at The Ticket and...well you get the idea...
