dont confuse one guy who made the thread with the rest of us. if you read it, you'll see that most people think realistically...
February is too early too, I think we can have this topic in June. If the Rockets win the championship, then we can say that the best team are the rockets, until now, I dont say anything
yep, this is how the clutch BBS, when the rockets win, or after the season, they are the best, when they lose, they start create threads about trading yao or tmac, or something stupid.
Deep in our hearts, we the true hot red fans of the Houston Rockets know that we have every chance to be a special team this season. We should keep quiet about it and let is come to a boil during the upcoming season. At least keep it a secret till thursday night when we kick the ....Dallas right out of the building.
ABSOLUTELY!!! The games still have to be played. Injuries is something no one can predict. Karl Malone was injured and was not able to play throughout that championship series with the Pistons and the Lakers sorely missed him, and thus, made it much easier for the Pistons to win that series.
Is it? I don't believe so. I think the prevailing sentiment has always been that if everything goes right, we have a chance. You got to admit that this year is different. On paper, the Rockets have as much talent as any team in the league. This hasn't been the case for the Rockets for a LONG time. Before, I've always been "hoping" we could win. Now, I'm actually "expecting" them to win. Maybe not immediately, or have gaudy win totals in the regular season. But if we're healthy come playoff time, I feel good about our chances to go all the way.
until we win a first round series in April next year, we're just a team full of losers. the only player on this team that has ever gone past first round is No. 55 who is the oldest player in the NBA and playing his last season. has any team made the leap from a bunch of first round losers to the champions directly? so I refuse to get my hope up too high.
Two games into preseason and we're ready to crown the Rockets champions? If only every other team in the league was lucky enough to lose to NO and beat a V-Mac less (Greek knockoff of the original) led Panathanaikos. Come on guys, looking at the glass half full is great and all but how about being practical? I don't know about y'all but I'm going to enjoy this season. We've got a great team, the best teams in the league are 3-4 hours North and West of Houston. It's going to be a lot of fun. I'm just quite not ready to crown them yet.
Lucky Rafer isnt the main man. We have two much better players that play the PG position. Try steve nash guarding Steve Francis? Those teams only have one high calibre PG we have three?
San Antonio is my last fav team but they're good as any team we had. They have one of the best players in TD, one of the fastest pg's in the league and one of the best, great shooter and 6th man in Manu, quality bench and good all round players with lots of talent and very good coach and they play with this team as long as forever so chemistry in that teams is perfect. Celtics have a chance to be the best team in NBA. I know they have no chance with no bench, but when you have 3 superstars that attracts other free players to come to play with them. So in few years they will surely be competitor for NBA title, they're now cause East is very weak. Mavs are there.Nobody averages 65+ wins in one season for God dammit They have MVP... Jason Terry, Josh Howard, young coach and very versatile team. Then you have Nuggets! Malo and A.I. with best d player in the league, healthy Kenyon Martin,Nene so as young J.R. Smith and pretty solid bench. I'll not mention Suns because I think that they are the BEST team right now in the NBA but they don't have luck. Whatever happens,I'm with our Rockets
Rafer isn't the only PG on our roster! Golden Steate is a competitor in West??? They hardly entered playoffs last year and had luck against team that fits them. Golden S isn't a competitor in West ...
Rockets are one of the best team in the NBA, no doubt but I think Dallas, SAS maybe Suns are a little bit better.
*Sips root beer and eats popcorn while watching drama unfold* *wonders when the next emotional wave will come in the soap opera that is the Houston Rockets fans*
I'm not gonna lie, altho I didn't start threads, I felt that we should get rid of Tmac or something after we lost game 7. However I think that was all due to a quick reaction/frustration after we lost a series we were supposed to win. Obviously I don't think that anymore about Tmac, but I understood the frustration after that loss. Now for those people who kept that going for weeks after our game 7 loss.. those I don't understand. They should just disappear. Forever. Btw, who wanted Yao traded? Are they still alive or banned forever? Back to topic. The optimist in me says that there aren't really any team that could take us on a 7 game series, but realistically as everyone had mentioned, we'll have to see how the team meshes together come February.
Mutombo has gone past first round. Mike James has a ring with Pistons. Rafer played past first round. Bonzi too with Sacramento. Those are 4 players, right?
