Is anybody wondering if Melo is trying to force a trade or firing?

While I'm no fan, If (and probably no chance at all) he could be coaxed out of his retirement, Sloan would probably be a good fit for these guys and would have the respect of the players I'd expect, which is a huge issue.

Oh Lordie. Talk about an explosion. Sloan coaching Chucker Melo and No D Amare. He'd tell the front office they'd have to trade both guys before he'd sign the contract.

I think Carmelo and Stoudemire would be more trouble than D-will ever was for Sloan. Good luck in trying to get them to play D. If Stoudemire and Chandler gets traded for D-Howard, maybe Sloan would come out of retirement. I don't really see it though. He's a Jazz lifer. I can't picture him in the Big Apple.

I don't think Sloan would come back to basketball at all, but he did spend 6 years with Boozer, so its not like he doesn't have recent experience with defensive slackers.
