I suggest encode them to xvid/divx, like many people did with last season's games. If encoded right, one DVD5 can hold about 12 games (just an estimate).

One thing you guys might want to be aware of is the fact that "any un-authorized re-broadcast or distribution without the prior written consent of the National Basketball Association is forbidden." You know that little disclaimer? They are serious.

Recording the game, copying it to DVD's or digitally and sending it out all over the place is CLEARLY a violation of the NBA's trademark. If you want to run the risk, that's your business. But, please don't use the site as your black market. :) Keep that stuff in private.

According to the TV listings on the internet, Sunday's game is on channel 51.

My project is intended for my own ownership (like other people who have a videotape collection of every game). This is why I expressed concern about making copies.

I've used kvcd in the past and liked it a lot. Haven't used it on a DVD, but it sounds promising: "about 6 hours Full D-1 720x480 on one DVD"

I've also used xvid and divx in the past, but not when burning a DVD. I know that divx has arguably the best compression-to-quality mix, but I didn't think it could be incorporated when burning a video DVD that can play in DVD players.

It's not in Miami. It is at Toyota Center at 7:30pm according to the official schedule.

Time-Warner DVR is your best friend.

I used it yesterday and today to record the Astros games, and I'll definitely be using it for the China games.

it's impossible to fit the entire season onto 1 dvd with regular dvd format, your best bet is to write the Divx files, and play the video on computer.

No - one game per dvd ( a total of 89 DVD's for the whole season )

Okay... now that I say that out loud... damn.. that's a lot of games...

And now I have to ask myself, "when am I going to watch those games?".... I mean.. 89 games at around 1-1.5 hours a game (after editing timouts and commercials)... that's a LOT of basketball.

Maybe I'll just cap the highlight games. ... I dunno... I'm re-thinking this..

    89 DVDs
    Why 89?

I think it should be 105 or 117 or something in between. :D

    Dear Rockets,

May I have your consent to have someone record the game and distribute it to me so I can watch it since the damn NBA won't show all preseason games?

    Sincerely,

    Die Hard Rockets Fan
