I bet Deandre would be putting up close to those #'s in Dallas.

Andre is one of the most overrated players in the NBA. He's going to get his max contract and go south. He's like Benoit Benjamin. Just teases you with his size, strength, and incredible athleticism. But the man is a total lame brain.

He'll never be as good as DeAndre is defensively. And in the big moments he is going to fail Detroit so badly.

Both players however are a liability in crunch time. You simply can't play guys that can be put on the FT line and total kill the efficiency of the offense. That's simply too easy. Hack-a-DeAndre and Hack-an-Andre are strategies that DO WORK big time because those guys are so poor at the FT line.

Personally I'd take DeAndre over Andre every day of the week. DeAndre is much more basketball intelligent and has a winner's mentality. Andre is in a fog all the time. He's like a little child that you have to constantly give positive reinforcement to and if you get on his case he recedes into his shell.

Andre is going to highly disappoint Detroit over the next 5 years. I don't care how many rebounds he pulls down and how many dunks he has. He's going to disappoint them in the win column.

The thing is - DeAndre has reached his ceiling. Andre has a ways to go. He's still very raw. The negative things you say about Andre all applied to DeAndre when he was a young player, so much so that he came off the bench in college and fell to the 2nd round.

I agree with most of BBallholic's post.
Though both are not elite defenders, and I don't see either becoming one ever. They are too dumb. And Andre could potentially improve a bit to Deandre's level because he's still young. But elite defender he won't be. He is not Dwight.

DeAndre is a good defender. Andre has improved to being an above average defender.

Are you saying that if they can de-Andre Andre, he will become DeAndre some day?

Oh yeah he is good ok. Just not elite. And he never will become one. Low bball iq and instict.
It was ridiculous how he was pushed to become DPOY.

Andre is the same. Look he is in the league 4 years. He got a lot of minutes and chances from when he was drafted. He still shows the same mental issues, and lack of instict and lack of understanding of some defensive principles. I can now be comfortamble saying he will never become elite defender. Good..maybe..? With a lot more experience..perhaps at DeAndre's age.

First post move of his career ? Jordan is so over rated , people for some reason think Howard hasnt improved over the years must be stupid cuz this guy is a example of not really doing anything else but dunking..

Andre will be better than DeAndre. But it will be irrelevant, as I think that Towns will be better than Andre very soon.
And that Davis and Cousins ( who is just 3 years older than Andre ) will always be the better player.

They're both poor compared to Cousins.

It's crazy, Drummond is only 22 and DeAndre is 27. I'd bet on Drummond having a better career.

Both are great shotblockers but overall below average overall defensive players.

I think Drum has so much more upside in that area.

Davis and Cousins WILL always be the better players and Drummond's career is going to nosedive as his terrible FT shooting is exploited more and more often with him having to sit the bench in crunch time.
