It's not dishonest to remind you of your own comments, despite whatever segment of them you telepathically expected us to respond to. And it's still very narrow evidence of your originally flawed reasoning for America being the greatest country.

you didn't remind me of my comment as a comment is more than one word. You dishonestly cherry picked one thing out of context instead of just saying 'my bad, I misread'. And you have made 0 arguments to contradict anything I said.

Kind of hard to find a metric for "greatest" but it's safe to say it isn't the most popular, which is Germany.

I didn't misread anything. Your comment had two sentences, the first one mentioned single cross border immigration. That's half of your comment and not cherry picking. Then you irrationally and pettily disavowed your own words and called me dishonest for quoting you. You used Mexicans crossing one out of their three neighboring borders in support of your argument for America being the greatest country. It was a uniquely narrow piece of evidence for an already hollow argument.

On the boats and on the planes, they're coming to America. Never looking back again, they're coming to America.

    Today.

canada's probably a little bit better if you think about it. It has everything America has except it's safer, and a little more diverse if you're in Toronto.

I don't have any idea...I have never lived anywhere else.

If I had lived in a lot of countries I might have an opinion, it would still be only my opinion.

American exceptionalists who have never lived or visited anywhere else who insist that we are, without reservation, the best country on earth make me tired.

Of course, so do people who live elsewhere and think America is awful without having ever been here.

I actually picked Moldova because I know someone who moved here rather than somewhere in Europe because of the image of the US so you lose. The American image of wealth and celebrity is powerful, the American Dream. You sound like you've never met an immigrant from anywhere other than Mexico.

Sounds like your friend moved here for the opportunities and freedoms offered by America and you think he is dumb because you think it is all hype. Is he better off than he was in Moldova? If not why is he (or she) still here?

The image isn't hype. It's not like people are coming here then realizing it is not true and just going back.....

No I don't. You are projecting.

The upward mobility statistics say it's all hype. You dont have to take my word for it. I would think I know her better than you do but go ahead.

No, my kid is in private school because I don't want the liberal morons in public school teaching him how much America sucks.

I have a problem with people taking liberal hate spewing from a fictional TV series seriously.

Who? Who comes remotely close to us in military power? Who comes remotely close to us in economic power? Who gives more freedom to their citizens, more individual rights with a legal system established to protect those rights?

NO ONE us even close because while some countries might give us a run for our money or even beat us out in some respects, no one else has the total package that we do. We are economically and militarily powerful without resorting to dictatorship or seriously restricting their citizens' rights. None of the Euro states can say that, nor can any of the Asian powerhouses, and no one else even comes close.

    So, who?
