For another month, yeah. He'll be 22 at the end of next season....just like Jalen will be in just over a month.
I'd like to see him play with Alpi in the PnR more before I can decide his game. He has a somewhat limited role in the bench group he plays with.
I don't think Amen is a bust but he would be better suited as a wing than a point guard due to his shooting issues. If we try to do another KPJ experiment with Amen to force him into the PG position, I don't think that does him or the Rockets any favors.
Amen is a pure point guard, always been a point guard. You should not be a forward if you have shooting problems….he is a elite point guard….calm down…it’s only been 10 games
Everyone jumped on me when i said he wasn't special and was playing trash tier competition, but then again, what can you expect from mostly casuals that just repeat whatever they hear and read? ♂️
Honestly you shouldn't be a basketball player if you are under 6'10 and you have shooting problems. The kid will have to learn to shoot or he'll be a bust, he's got time, but that's what he has to do.
I still don't get people even speculating on Amen when he's only played 10 games, and complaining about his shooting issues when he is a rookie and already shooting a higher FG% than Green or VanVleet. You don't think he can get better? I mean, Jalen's gotten worse every year, so who knows.
Ben Simmons making those all-star teams was a large part because he was signed to klutch sports. Hell he even won roty over the more deserving donovan mitchell
Jalen had a 50% or higher FG% in 8 of 29 games. Amen had a 50% or higher FG% in 5 of 10 games. I just don't understand what all the worry is about.
I'm not sure how you can say with any certainty that a player with his level of shooting will be a star. Amen's jump shot isn't just below average, he makes Westbrook looks like Ray Allen.
I don't think not being able to shoot is particularly good for a modern wing, unfortunately. At least catching and shooting.
Well, give him time. He shows some great talent. The only doubt I have on him is his jump shot, but that is it. He can work on that in the coming years.
Can we give him, like, 2-3 seasons? He was hurt, he has barely played, he is rookie 29 games in. I'm not sure he will pan out but I am willing to wait more. Jalen in the other hand is starting to worry me.
I am not worried about Amen yet, but I am surprised that his handle looks suspect. I knew his shot was busted, but he seems either very nervous or has a weak handle.
