The people calling Aaron Brooks a bust already have something in common with the people saying that Scola was a bust earlier this year becauase he wasn't starting, and could not stay out of foul trouble.

    It takes TIME people.

Rookies hit rookie walls. That Yi Jian Lian guy played like a star at the beginning of the season, and now almost dissapeared off the face of earth. Scola is a 27 years international star. Landry is mainly a finisher. Brooks is learning to be a creator.

Brooks hasn't got it yet, it's not all about speed, it's also about twisting and zigzagging the way to create a play. The sudden changes in direction, angle and speed is hard to master. It takes time to learn how to shake off the defense in the NBA. He should watch loads of tapes on how Gary Payton, Sam Cassel and others do it. PG is the most difficult position to learn. He needs time to develop.

He can't be a bust, he's already performed at or above the level expected of a late first rounder.

I think AB will be a solid rotational player but he's not going to be a franchise player. He can be a good backup once he learns to play in control, providing the team with energy and instant offense off the bench.

AB should be given more playtime.

In fact, if he doesn't play, we don't know whether he is our future or not.

I honestly think we are not going to get what we all hope out of AAron Brooks. I think now is the time to start trying to get rid of him while we still can get something.

I'm hoping for a poor man's Barbosa. I know Brooks was/is a rookie and that PG is the toughest position to learn in the NBA but I just didn't see the skill set from him that makes a great NBA PG.

I think his place in the league will be as a change of pace, instant offense midget off the bench.

which isn't bad. we could use any offense.

seriously, he was a late 20s pick. what do you expect out of him? he's done better than players picked before him, and i can't be more proud of what morey have done. brooks is a player that has potential. and you should just be thankful for that. he stays the same? oh well, just a late 20s pick. he fulfills his potential? that's great.

point guards ussually take some time to develop...

he's by no means a deal breaker...but what kind of value does an undersized (and for the most part untested) 2nd year player have?

we are probably better off keeping him unless he is part of a bigger package

How important is the point guard role to winning the title anyway. Check out the Lakers in Celtics. Neither Fisher or Rondo make you jump for joy. Our time and money is better spent getting some athletic shooters on this team and crazed 6'9 rebounder and defender off the bench to replace Yao.

Absolutely. I remember reading all of the "Scrubola" nonsense and thinking to myself that those posters didn't know what they were talking about.

I like Aaron but now everything depends on him.

Can he play consistant? Can he improve his shooting?

This year will be very important for him. He was nervous in his first year but he also had his good moments. I like him as a player, first of all I love his speed. I wish he could use it more.

I am sure there is more to that story than Aaron Brooks. Thats why they are called rumors and not facts.

the problem Brooks ran into at the end of the season was that he fell in love with his 3pter. he needs to find a balance in his game, because he is a good finisher at the rim and has a decent (but underutilized) mid range shot. hell he was taking D-Will to the rim at will in the playoffs...

I am not concerned on whether or not he is the starter incumbent so long as he is a consistant contributor.

Aaron Brooks is approx the same height as Chris Paul, who is the best point guard in the NBA right now.

I'd say AB is closer to 5'10 or 5'9 than the 6'0 he's listed at but that's not really a problem. I never understood why people complain about small PG's. For that position height is of little importance. I remember talkin' to Luther Head at Tmac's softball game and he was obviously smaller than me (I'm 6'3), that is a problem area.

I like his upside even at his small size. Maybe when u could derek harper guys in the day, it would be a problem. The rules now are set up for penetration and breaking down the defense. That's reason enough to let him play. The 5 out of 30 pg that can post him up, so what. Rafer gets posted up by those same pg's as well as luther. Go get a arroyo or doolinng as his backup.

And approx half his weight, and is not even a good pg in the NBA right now.

Thanks for the definition of "rumor", Pete.

There should be no place on our team for a 5'10", 120 lb point guard who can't shoot.
