Lol you names three guys that I hope leave them team to try and convince me we need to win? We need to get rid of trash. That's what KPJ Wood and Tate are. Never winning with those loser mentalities and lack of height/ shooting for Tate. Lack of toughness for Wood. They are poisoning our rookies with bad habits. If we clear those guys we can spend 100 million in free agency. green plus 2022 1st plus 2023 1st. Sengun. Christopher, Garuba. And 2 max contracts = championship.

Tate is a solid nba young player. Wood & Porter were more valuable to the team than Sengun was lol. Trash?

Have you seen the list of 23/24 free agents?

    PG's .......(age in 23/24 season)
    Beverley (age 35)
    Bledsoe (34)
    George Hill (37)
Reggie Jackson (33.....I would rather have Ivey with one year under belt)
    Frank Ntilikina (25)
    D'Angelo Russell (27)
    Ish Smith (35)
    Kemba Walker (33)
    SG's
    Will Barton (32)
    Sterling Brown (28)
    KCP (30)
    Seth Curry (33)
    Terrence Ross (32)
    SF's
    K Bates-Diop (27)
    Bojan Bogdanovic (34)
    Dillion Brooks (27)
    Torrey Craig (33)
    Danny Green (36)
    Harkless (30)
    LeBron James (39)
    Caris LeVert (29)
    Andrew Wiggins (28)
    PF's
    Harrison Barnes (31)
    Crowder (33)
    Gallinari (35)
Jerami Grant (poorer numbers than Wood this year)
    Kleber (31)
    K-Love (35)
    Larry Nance Jr (30)
    George's Niang (30)
    C
    Steven Adams (30)
    Jokic (28)
    Myles Turner (27)
    ----------------------------------
    RFA PG's and SG's stink

RFA SF worth noting RJ Barrett (23)
    DeAndre Hunter (26),
    Cameron Johnson (27)
    Cam Reddish (24)

    RFA PF PJ Washington (25)

    RFA C Jaxson Hayes (23)
    _____________
So most of these guys like Dillion Brooks, LeBron, Jokic are staying with their team.

PJ Washington, DeAndre Hunter, Cameron Johnson (may have to overpay), Cam
Reddish, Myles Turner intrigue me right now.

Point is "No Guards" look promising. Easier to get position 3 thru 5
in free agency in 2023 off-season.

You put down C Wood and Porter, but may be the best we can find....come that day.

Headcases. Loser mentality. Sengun only 18.

Tate is never going to be anymore than a bench player who hustles. His shot is soo broke. And he's way too undersized. And he's like 26 already. No need to see him to develop. He is what he is. Not the future.

Id take Myles Turner over wood all day. Defensive presence we need to change our identity. 100 million to Jokic. That would be fun. Nuggets are a few more injury concerns from losing him. I would target all those wings. Address point guard and center in the next two drafts.

But going back to main topic of drafting Ivey to possibly replace Porter Jr.
(little to no point guards in free agency coming down the pike)
and we may be drafting #10 thru #18 (despite your wishes)....so drafting
a guard the following year is probably going to be lesser quality than Ivey
    if drafting #10 or later.

What are we doing with Eric Gordon, Wall, Nwaba?
Are we moving up on the draft as a result?

Are we drafting Chet (PF/C), Jabari (SF/PF), Banchero (PF/C),
Sharpe (SF), Mathurin (PG/SG/SF), AJ Griffin (SF), Keegan Murray (SF/PF),
    etc.

Next pick.....Mark Williams, Tari Eason, Kessler, EJ Liddell, Sochan, etc???

Sure I like Myles Turner.....but drafting a PG slash SG in Ivey doesn't conflict with that.

He isn't someone you want as your primary guard.

Horrible shot selection and even worse pass selection and when he does hit a teammate with a pass half of them are at their feet.

Athletic freak but he isn't exactly shifty in the half court. He'll jump in the air without an actual plan leading to a bad pass or shot. He does drawn a lot of fouls running through players but it often looks ugly/painful.

He has that "moves faster than he thinks" play style.

    Positive:
Insanely athletic, great size and not afraid of big moments... He took out my school on an ice cold 3.

He is going to need work on his shot it's broke but that easily fixable.

He is like a poor man's Westbrook or more athletic RJ Barrett before fixing the shot.

Johnny Davis was the better guard out of the Big 10 but both of them are definitely off guards.

I mean, that doesn’t sound like a fit at all, and I don’t see that he’s a better prospect than any of those top 3 bigs. So let’s hope we get a top 3 pick and avoid the Ivey dilemma, cause if those 3 bigs are off the table I’d want us to either trade back or grab Murray.

So what you are saying is the Rockets should draft Bonny, and then sign Lebron, Turner and Curry?

    Heck no....

I had Jabari and Chet almost neck and neck (sorry Chet for the neck jab); but lately
I've moved Ivey up the board to where, if we draft #2 #3 or #4, we should
take Ivey if he is still there.

    1) Ivey gets a year of transition into the NBA
    2) I believe he is a Ja Morant talent
    3) Porter is a RFA at end of season (if retained for 1 more yr Ivey gets
two yrs to gel with Green)
    4) Josh Christopher is a talent; but I don't feel he will ever be as good as Ivey will be.
    5) even if Porter re-signs long term & J Christopher is not traded I believe the 4 of:
Ivey-Green-Porter-Christopher will be killing it for the next 10 years possibly, because
they are interchangeable at 1-3 positions (in this new position-less NBA)

    roster 22/23:
    Ivey.....Porter / JC / Green
Green ..JC / Porter / Ivey
    Porter... Tate / Kenyon
Wood...(Tari Eason? EJ Liddell? Sochan? Patrick Baldwin?...w/ #17 or move up)
    Sengun...Garuba / (Mark Williams? Kessler?....w / #17 or move up)

Use future drafts or free agency to fill in gaps at positions 3 thru 5

......and Bronny sucks and LeBron will be in a wheelchair at age 39.

As I study him closer Ivey has a pretty ridiculous talent, my only concern is what happened that last game in the tournament.

For those that watched him, was he hurt, did he get shut down?

Looking for more game film or replays, but so far it's a four-player draft of potential stars, not just the bigs from what I'm seeing.

I know. I was being silly.

My biggest issue with all the guards that the Rockets can take, is that I don't have faith that any of them will become a high level defensive stopper (like at least All defense 2nd team). Ivey could be a good defender, but probably not in that level. I think Green could be if was not going to be asked to carry the heaviest offensive load on the team. Porter and Christopher seem more like rotation players off the bench to me. So, I just fear them being too poor defensively as a unit.

Additionally, there should be no expectation that all these guys are going to pan out how we want them to. So, I think BPA should be more important than positional fit in this roster, at least for this season. Having said that, given the current expectation that Alps and Green will be the pillars of the team, whomever is draft has to have the ability to be above average on defense plus whatever offensive skills they may have.

Me too, Bronny doesn't really suck (much) and LeBron probably won't be in a wheelchair at 39

Not sure but his tournament highlights are during pressure situations

    Jabari 1
    Chet 2
    Ivey 3

Murray is a 6'8 pf why would you want that to pair with our already undersized Sengun? If you are gonna say we can replace Sengun I have no reason to believe the 22 yr old 6'8 NCAA karl Malone pf of the year is somehow better than the 20 yr old 6'9 turkish league mvp.

Tate has shown more solid overall play than Sengun lol. Sengun's defense is so atrocious, it offsets his passing. Tate is literally our best defender & also has post game.
