An old man turned 98. He won the lottery and died the next day.

Another performance like that and he'll be Uninvited in Philly.

Roy O with 7 shutout innings.

One of my favorite players ever. Quite a career for a 23rd round pick.

Some people soured on him over the last year or so. Not me. I just look at how many cheaters and douchebags there are in baseball and really, across all of sports, and become even more thankful for great players with good characters like Roy and Lance.

And Brad Lidge closes it out with a perfect ninth inning. Its 2005 all over again!

Unfortunately Lance Berkman is really struggling with the Yankees.

True. He did have a good game the day after hitting A-Roid (3-for-4 with 2 2B) but he's struggled for sure. Then again, it's been a small sample size and inconsistent playing time.

Just now, he hit a ground-rule double off Cliff Lee to deep right center. There was a little miscommunication by the Texas OFers but it was a well hit ball.

PHILADELPHIA -- Roy Oswalt received a standing ovation as he walked off the field in the top of the seventh inning Wednesday at Citizens Bank Park.

He had lived up to the hype.

    ...

Oswalt improved to 1-1 with a 2.79 ERA in three starts with the Phillies, who acquired him July 29 in a trade with the Houston Astros.

    ...

Oswalt had to figure two runs would be all he would get.

He entered the game last in the NL in run support, averaging just 2.48 runs per nine innings.

Of course, most of those starts came with the Houston Astros. But the fact remained Oswalt has had little room for error.

Puma draws a walk after a long, quality AB to lead off the 9th with the Yankees down a run.

Granderson pinch runs for him and ends up scoring the tying run.
