Ironically, I think Morey's coach-hiring process actually tries to prevent groupthink

This news is over a month ago, but for those who may want to follow what Chris Finch is busy with, British news reports he will be setting up camp for the British Olympic team in Chicago, hoping to have Luol Deng and Ben Gordon in attendance.

Oh, sorry ... GB training camp will now be in Surrey, England

    http://www.mvp247.com/2011/05/finch-rockets/

"GB are due to open training camp in Surrey on July 31. Previous plans to hold camp in either Chicago or Florida were abandoned by team chiefs after they were forced to pull out of a warm-up tournament in Brazil due to a change of dates."

Assumed McHale was more of a no-think brand of coach.

In the eyes of posters like meh, the Rockets' front office can do no wrong. They will spin everything that's done by Morey and company in order to try and portray both in a positive light. Some of these posters will deny this while others, like Cxbby, admit to being blind supporters.

Heaven forbid that Rockets fans on a Rockets BBS support their team.

I try to remain completely neutral, but the reason I tend to side with posters like me is because they back up the claims they make and present evidence in their analyse that makes logical sense.

You on the other hand, just accused Meh of blindly supporting the Rockets Front Office, with no evidence whatsoever.

See what I'm getting at here? Meh and other "Morey supporters" are simply showing support for the means by which the Front Office is running, not by the end results.

Being a basketball executive is a lot about luck as well. The Lakers got Pau Gasol for free and it made LA's Front Office look like pure gold.

I just think Morey makes the best decisions he possibly can with the information he's given, which because he's a nerd, is often more than what other GM's have to work with.

look at the method, not the ending.

Blind support and hero worship are never a good thing.

See above...Also, I'm basing my position on the posting history of meh and others like him/her.

Kwame, set aside for a moment my past posts, why don't you just read THIS thread and comment on this only? Please name where I worshiped, or quite frankly, even praised Morey.

If anything, my post states nothing of my own opinions on the hiring. I only tried to view things from the Rockets front office perspective. I did not say whether or not this is the correct decision. If you read the responses, I even mentioned how the Redskins tried this and failed miserably. In the NBA, you have the Mavs and the Celtics doing similar things and succeeding. As well as Miami/San Antonio doing the opposite and also succeeding. So how am I praising Morey here?

My point in the OP post is that I don't believe McHale is Morey's puppet, or that he's only there so Morey can implement his own coaching philosophies. If you feel that these are the words of blind worshiper, then simply debunk this myth with relevant facts or logical reasoning. It shouldn't be difficult.

When it comes to coaching selections, it's impossible to tell how it will work before its started, and unless there's some ungodly improvement, hard to gauge for a cpl years at least.

Please point to me a comment or even a couple of words that you have typed that have even been remotely critical of Morey...unless you believe he's perfect. If you don't believe he's flawless or perfect, then surely you must have made some constructive criticisms of Morey that you can provide us with.
