Your boys disapointed me. Choked. They had that one. ***************************** You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to DonnyMost again.
Unfortunately missed the game due to BF shopping... but I heard the game was good. Auburn down 24-0 in the 2nd q and for them to win by a point... damn. Must've been nice... Feel sorry for Boise and TCU... this was probably their best shot at getting to the National Championship.. itll be a while before they are at this level again.
You might be right. But my initial point was TCU and BSU didn't have to play and beat Alabama, who happened to be last years national champions, to keep their title hopes alive. Whether by choice or not, TCU and BSU didn't have to go through the type of schedule Auburn went through, and its still not over. Next up, the SEC championship game. And then, MAYBE the national championship game. We'll see..
I agree that an undefeated SEC team should always go to the national championship game but just because you have a tougher schedule does not necessarily mean you are the better team. Auburn won 6 games by one possession, while TCU only had one game within one possession, yes it is an easier schedule, but should Mississippi St, Clemson and Kentucky really be within one possession? It's just another element of the debate that has no definite answer.
If the SEC is too tough, then join an easier conference. I'm sure TCU would be happy to take your place.
How bout them Tigers!! Newton showed us why he deserves the heisman.. Spoiler P.S. Roxsqaud-- You might wanna change your sig..
SDSU was 27th at that point, and good job picking out TCU's one bad game. How about LSU's 6 point win against UNC, or the 6 point win against WVU, or the 2 point blow out of Tennessee, or the 4 point win against Florida.
I fail to see how ranking at the time matters. I always preferred overall ranking at the end of the year because that takes the entire measure of a team's ability into account. Oh sure, you have teams like Va Tech who started off slow and then picked up steam and momentum, but for the most part, a 9-3 team ranked 16 at the end of the year is a 9-3 team that was more or less the 16th best team in the country. Who cares if somene beat them when they were 1-1 and only ranked 34th. Or who cares if someone knocks off #1 ABCSU when they are 3-0 if they end up 7-5?? (not saying SDSU is this or that, just saying in general) At the end, it should only matter that they beat a team who went 7-5.
Oh I agree, thats why I was saying, is the SDSU game worse than the UNC, WVU, Tennessee or Florida game looking back at the whole season?
Florida, WVU, Tennessee would wreck SDSU. Each of these teams have bad records because they play tougher teams themselves.
I just got back from Tuscaloosa and wanted to give a shout out to the Alabama fans here that told me that Auburn would lose. War Eagle
Tennessee's best win this year is at home against a 4-7 Ole Miss team. They had to go to overtime to beat 4-7 UAB at home. Their other I-A wins are against a 1-10 and 2-9 team. Their only win against a team with a winning record is against a 1-AA team. This is the kind of nonsense that people hate about SEC bias. The idea that Tennessee is remotely good is complete fiction, but since they play in the SEC, they are given all kinds of benefit of the doubt for no good reason.
