I'd bet on Bama on both games. I think TCU would be a better opponent though against Bama if you ask me.
I'm sure TCU would love to play Alabama, unfortunately Alabama would rather play teams like Georgia State, San Jose State, and Duke.
How about scheduling tougher competition? Or joining a REAL conference Boise St and to a lesser extent TCU?
What's so funny? Auburn deserves to be in the title game if they go undefeated in the SEC. Yes, I said it! They are more deserving than TCU or BSU.
You know SDSU was sitting just outside of the rankings at about 27 most of the season and are still getting votes....... Learn about the non AQ conferences before you talk like you're an expert on them.
You guys also know that non AQ schools are 4-2 in BCS games, and one of those loses is TCU to Boise last year.....
Those are the only teams left to choose from after the good teams decline to play them. And do you really think Boise State or TCU don't want to join a major conference. Give me a break dude.
Details, details. It's much easier to just forget that and pretend every year that there's no way a non-AQ school could ever be any good.
TCU schedule Oregon St Tennessee Tech Baylor SMU Colorado St Wyoming BYU (a down year but they're solid) air Force UNLV Utah SDSU New Mexico I bolded the good matchups. Let's take a look at Alabama's schedule San Jose St Penn St (btw, that's a pretty big non conference game, it's just that Penn St sucked this year) Duke Arkansas florida Scar Ole Miss Tennessee (not Tenn tech or some bs) LSU Miss St. Georgia St Auburn So somebody mentioned earlier that Alabama should schedule harder teams because their non conference schedule is cupcake. Yes, true but their regular schedule is ridiculous, along with Auburn's and rest of the SEC's. Wouldn't be really smart of the schools to schedule non-conference schedule games against solid teams if they're going to be playing good teams rest of the season, now would it?
"Join a better conference!" "Play Bama first then you can talk!" You do realize that the way things are set up, this chicken-egg argument is circular logic that basically is designed to keep teams like BSU and TCU from ever getting a seat at the dinner table, right? Until we see a playoff, this same, stupid argument will keep getting beat into the ground and teams will be routine excluded from the opportunity to play because of some asshat's opinion. College football is r****ded.
I think its undeniable Auburn played a harder schedule than either TCU or BSU. Thus, all things being equal (such as unbeaten record), they deserve to be in the title game. End of story.
By the way, Auburn already got ripped off in 2004 when they went 13-0 and didn't sniff the title game. To me, they were the best team and champions that year.
I agree the system is broken and we need a playoffs. I also agree that an undefeated SEC team should always be in the national championship game. I also agree that teams with really tough schedules do not have to have the toughest out of conference games. However, people always underrate the non AQ teams and over rate the AQ teams (maybe not always, but you understand my point). Oregon's schedule this year is not that tough, but people make it seem like they play an SEC schedule compared to TCU's who struggles to get teams to agree to play them and yet has a comparable schedule to Oregon. Personally in my rankings before this week I would have had Alabama at 1, Oregon 2, TCU 3, for the best team in the nation. Even in a broken system you can still try to be fair for giving credit to SDSU and Air Force for having good teams this year, but yet, most people would consider a win over UT this year better than a win over Air Force or SDSU
Maybe so, but your comments show just how truly either bias or ignorant you are. "Go join a better conference" isn't exactly a revolutionary idea.
