Borderline to the Irish. Tell that to teams with higher rankings and better resumes that got left out of the BCS. Yeah, no privileged status there (by the BCS, and in turn NCAA, who allows the BCS to operate that way).

OK, wrong year on Whites 2000+. But getting 1500+ (1572 to be exact) while leading a team to a better record with a better bowl record, and scoring 16 touchdowns is a pretty good case. Throw in White’s career numbers (which often are done for such trophies)—and it is a landslide. BTW, not Icky Woods but apparently Eric Wilkerson at Kent State lead the nation in rushing that year.

From the Heisman trophy cite (I assuming voting was done through the first 9 games)." As a measure of Brown's versatility, consider these statistics through the first nine games of the season: 32 pass receptions for 729 yards and 3 touchdowns; 29 rushes for 133 yards and a touchdown; 19 kickoff returns for 398 yards; and 31 punt returns for 380 yards and three touchdowns."

The Neuter Damn cite even has Tim Brown at only 990 yards in total offense in 1997. If you thrown in return yards (all-purpose yards) it looks better (before then however no one really counted return yards towards MVP type awards because they don't lead to first downs and are easier to pile up—that is why Rick Upchurch isn’t, and Brian Mitchell will never be, in the Pro Football Hall of Fame). Bottom line is 990 total offense and only 7 touchdowns including returns (less than half of White's) does not warrant the Heisman when their are better candidates--who are more meaningful for their team and whose teams performed at a higher level largely do to their efforts.

Yeah, go ahead and say if the jerseys were switched Brown still would have won the Heisman at MSU and White wouldn’t have 1 (or 2) at ND. Of course I can't "prove it" it was a Heisman Heist any more than I can “prove” Nueter Damns undo rankings, those things by their very nature are subjective. But if you ask me both the rankings and Heismans are biased toward ND (thrown in Michigan there too if you want)—I’ll give you my opinion as “yes”.

I don’t know those players situations so I’ll assume you are correct they would have played at Neuter Damn if they were admitted. Yes, some good, and even elite, players show interest in ND--I personally have no idea why (joke, friendly jab--yes I know if you grew up liking them it probably would be a great place to go as a fan or player). Nonetheless if I said such players don’t show interest in playing there yes I'll admit that was a bullcacca comment--not based on any kind of fact but instead out of ribbing because the bottom line is the provided lots of Ws for other teams.

One can't determine tongue-in-cheek comments from mindboggling ignorance when the words are typed by someone who doesn't know their elbow from their *******. Why I'm wasting my time on this, I'll never know. [/QUOTE]

I don’t know either (to your last phrase), but I thought my tongue and cheek was obvious. It not like I said a ND fan couldn’t possibly be a red blooded Texan or must be a carpet bagger in some serious tone or one where I implied I meant it . As a Cowboy fan I have no problem with the ignorant banter against them and their players here and there—it is all part of being a fan of the team others love to hate.

Further, if read of joy party about ND this, ND that, on the BBS and I feel like it I'll chime in with some impersonal jabs. Same things happens with Cowboy posts, posts about OU/UT, etc., etc. It comes with the territory when non-Rocket teams are talked about--I am sure there is a Neuter Damn webcite where you can't diss them and stay on. And personally it bugs I have to pay pay-per-view to watch better out of market teams play when ND is on every week and the fact they get "homer" national network announcers for more than half their games--but you know what, I certainly don't lose any sleep over it, it is just sports after all and sports ain't my job.

Neuter Damn... now that's crafty! Can I use that? :)

There have been maybe 3 threads on Notre Dame football this fall. If you "come to the joy party" and can't take responses to what you are trying to dish out then I suggest you give your ticket to the valet - he goes by "Kagy". Tip him nicely.

You lost me bringing in Kagy as a valet, but oh well. Yes, you can use my phrase.
