Exactly. I really think the focus needs to be on the attempted cover up. The State Department/CIA shook down wikileaks trying to keep this under wraps. They know it's horrible and they don't want it seen.

The only thing "investigated" here was how best to try and cover-up the incident.

These guys are murderers. Now, I accept that this stuff happens in war, but to not even attempt to rectify the situation is beyond the pale.

 

My point wasn't defending the Iraq War in and of itself, which I believe was a mistake. My point was in arguing against a foreign policy that is more concerned with doing whatever is morally correct as opposed to strategically correct, which Northside was discussing as he talked about how we need to act better than the insurgents or whatever.

at the latter, and I wholeheartedly agree on the former. That's the point. You do not get attacked by a terrorist organization and respond by sitting around and protecting your borders.

 

If George Washington tried that, you would not be here.

Everything you see is an illusion. The US Govt. is a federal corporation (fact) and both left-right candidates are backed by corporations/MIC. We The Sheeple get all our info from the TV so we just pick whichever of the two we see the most and side with.

Anti-war politicians get elected if you stop voting for the left-right illusion, turn your TV off and simply use your brain. If 80% of America just said "**** this, I'm voting for neither one of these guys", then you'd probably see a massive awakening of human consciousness and restoration of peace and freedom. Otherwise you get the same continuous mudslide of more war, less freedom, and more taxes. How is this not blatantly obvious by now? I thought we were supposed to be grown adults. Adults don't tolerate being lied to their whole life, children do.

 

Adults can rationalize most anything.

 

There is clearly what looks like an RPG being readied for fire at 4:07. The only way to confirm it wasn't an RPG would be to let them fire the thing at our troops.

The aircraft was tasked with protecting a patrol on the ground. They identified a threat. They eliminated it.

 

Sadly, this is the nature of war. And it will always happens...this is not a break down in command.

When you give people who are trained to kill the authority to make life or death situations, this is the result. These men believed they were doing the right thing...and how can they know if it's a camera or a gun. They thought they were militants..but as we can see, it's obvious to us they were not.

We don't know how many times the situation looked exactly like that and indeed they turned out to be militants...no one knows.

But this is not just the U.S. army, it's every army and every war and every side commits these types of things, and in reality, it gets far uglier and far worse than this.

The only way to prevent these things is to not fight. You can minimize it, but you can't prevent it. This is why war should always be a last resort.

You can not be pro-life and a support of war.

When things like this happen, don't try to justify or cover it up. That would just allow them to repeat.

 

I'm not sure I am anymore...or ever really was for that matter.

 

I didn't see any RPG's at the 4:07 mark, I saw a big camera lens, but the angle made it look bad. I don't agree with air-to-land combat in this type of war, just way too high a chance for innocent casualties.

 

I think the person they picked up was still alive and they where simply trying to take him to the hospital.

Agreed. If they have such regret come clean about the hundreds of other incidents they know about.

After reading the responses, I can't get myself to watch the video. I would be too upset and angered. There's no point it getting worked up since I'm sure this has happened many times before but with no video.

 

Murder? not so much.
