Talkbacks (17) Iranian government officials were angered by the revelation that a Star of David can be seen on the roof of the headquarters of Iran Air, the Islamic Republic's national airline, Al Arabiyya reported on Monday. The Star of David was discovered in a satellite image of Teheran airport taken by Google Earth. Upon learning of the existence of the Jewish symbol through local media reports, the government officials called for its immediate removal. The Iran Air building upon which the Star of David was found was constructed by Israeli engineers prior to the 1979 Islamic Revolution which ended diplomatic relations between the two countries. Israel enjoyed good relations with the Iranians during the pre-revolution reign of Shah Mohamed Reza Pahlavi. Local media in Iran mentioned that there were regular flights between Teheran and Tel Aviv and Israel even sold weapons to the Shah's army. Well, the Iranian government certainly isn't going to spend $600,000 during a recession to remove that star of david like we are with the swastika building. Nor are they spending a couple trillion invading and occupying another country. Iran 2: USA: 0
