Actually I apologize to you, Sam. I found the part you were looking for. Those weren't my words, but your phrasing. However I did respond in a way where I xcan see how you came to that conclusion. I never implied that Muslims hate the US anyway, what I said was that those who opposed US action would do it regardless of whether we're talking about intervention in Afghanistan or Iraq. That in the context of whether or not there we had high credibility in the Muslim world between Afghanistan and Iraq. "Whatever the exact percentage is, and its not 95%, is really irrelevant. Those same percentage of people, and its not 95%, would disapprove of unilateral US action no matter what the cause. As such I find it difficult to use that as a barometer for what we should or should not do." I did reply to your paraphrase of 'The "well they all hate us anyway" argument' with by saying it was 'true,' but that was in the context of the above statement, not a blanket they all hate us. Really its a case of you advancing a strawman in that thread, me not explicitly correcting you, and you repeating the same strawman in this thread. It is still a gross mischaracterization as I never said what you claimed, but I'll step up and apologize because calling you a liar is probably over the top.
I guess this is bad news for those of you that want the US to bomb Iran http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=2006\04\23\story_23-4-2006_pg7_7
When I say don't focus on the words and rhetoric that all sides engage in, including Iranian threats against Israel and Israeli threats against Iran and examine the actions on the ground, this is exactly what I mean: http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3242590,00.html
