a spy knows what he or she is getting into. Usually, when they get caught, things don't end well, not in the U.S, not in china, not in glorious soviet land..i wouldn't expect it to be any different in the Iran.

They should do the only honorable thing among spies..exchange assets. There has to be some Iranian spy held hostage somewhere. Get it done, Maury!

Exactly, chip an Iranian spies ass when he is out, and exchange him for this guy.

The best part of Rhad's posts is that DD didn't grasp why they were hypocritical or obtuse. LOL

Rhad, I guess you should interpret this as: "I'm getting pwned so badly it is embarrassing. Let's pretend the issue is not important at all."

Maybe, hard to say, honestly. I don't typically read his posts anyhow - I just got a kick out of justtxyank's comments.

Such a wuss, maybe you shouldn't come into threads and call people out if you don't want to face the music.

Poor Rhad, Minos has kicked him out again....sad sad sad.

I don't feel like starting a new thread, but Greenwald is really on a roll lately.

There are two stories published in the NY Times detailing Hekmati's occupations:

    Marine's Unusual Resume

Iran Calls Video Games Part of C.I.A. Plot

The reality is that many American Muslims are put in the precarious position of being viewed as a 'fifth column' by both western countries and Muslim nations alike. I've read reports detailing the xenophobia in post-revolution Egypt directed towards Egyptians with dual nationalities, and I've heard of similar reports from friends who've traveled overseas to visit their families in other countries.

Given the above, it's difficult to discern whether Hekmati's trip was as innocuous as a normal visit to grandma's, a cover for him to conduct covert ops (I tend to consider this highly unlikely, but who knows), or retribution for Iranian scientists being assassinated. Regardless, it's pretty clear that the trip itself was unwise given the tenuous relationship between the US and Iran.

Ya we only assassinate our own citizens with drones in Yemen, not other nationals.

Nah, it was probably Iran bumping off it's own scientist because he would not play ball.

I seriously doubt a spy would visit their grandma on a mission. Seriously?

Covert operations wouldn't result in the parents getting involved would they?

My opinion is the u.s needs to take action. Between the spy plane, this incident, the plot to conduct a terrorist attack on u.s. soil, and the nukes.....we have enough to bomb Iran and take out their nuke capes.

Do that and we don't need sanctions.
