    Breaking news. This is a predictable response by Iran to the targeted assassination of their government’s top general. One could compare it to the hypothetical deliberate killing of General Mattis back when he was Defense Secretary while on a visit to Iraq. How would we have reacted to that? So it begins.

    I thought this deserved it’s own thread.

    The Pentagon found some balls and said they wouldn't strike "cultural sites," that it would be a war crime. Mr trump backed down. Everything else, of course, is on the table, and we have a madman who can't keep his mouth shut "running things." We also have a weak Secretary of State and even weaker Secretary of Defense who won't stand up to the fool. The lunatics are running the asylum.

    This is a ****ing nightmare. There's a good chance it's all going to come crashing down and I'm not even happy that it's probably going to take Trump with it. I mean **** that guy to hell but a miserable pointless mideastern war that kills thousands or milliions and snuffs out the last spark of us credibility is not worth it.

    It's frightening just how unprepared we are for this. Any word that we had Patriot missile batteries at those bases, or Israel's Iron Dome anti-missile system's, which we helped develop and finance? I haven't heard that we have anything like that protecting our people in Iraq, something the Fool in Chief would have thought of ahead of time had he a modicum of intelligence.

    Our bases in Iraq, the country that was the scene of the targeted killing of arguably Iran's 2nd most powerful government official, a truly vicious b*stard I certainly have no sympathy for, a fellow that deserved it, were the obvious places to hit in retaliation. There were reasons both Republican and Democratic previous administrations hadn't killed him already. We are seeing the reasons now and in the days, and possibly the weeks to come.
