I have the 5 Gig one, and it's full, just from ripping my CD's. I don't even have all of them on there.
Remember the 8 bit video game wars? Nintendo vs. Sega. I bought a Sega because I thought it was better than Nintendo. Nintendo was much more popular though and ended up getting much more 3rd party support. As much as I love the Ipod, I went with another company's MP3 player and I'm having flashbacks to my purchase of the Sega Master System over NES. In any case, I just ordered this MP3 player - iRiver iHP-120 http://reviews.cnet.com/iRiver_iHP_120/4505-6490_7-30571493.html?tag=promo2
I used my Rio MP3 player probably 10 times. It's in a drawer collecting dust along with my Handspring Visor PDA.
I broke my Rio and the replacement after about 50 hours usage. Never buying from that company again. Now I'm always suspect about MP3 hardware quality. I am tempted by the iPod but the price just turns me off, there's competition, but the quality on those looks very low, like the Rio.
Dell will be releasing the "Dell Tunes" mp3 player this month. They should be like $50 cheaper than the IPOD.
Just so everyone knows... iPods are NOT waterproof... I work with a guy who lost his during the floods. His car was in high water, he jumped in the water to get to his car forgetting that his iPod was in his pocket... it floated out of his pocket and he found it the next day, soaked. Oh, Palm Pilots are not waterproof either!
What do you guys think of MP3 players built into cell phones? I wonder how big the hard drive is on those things.
