Hmm...so the trade in sounds like it's more a discount. If you just bought your 4, you wouldn't be upgrade eligible, which means the $200 just cuts down on the unsubsidized price ($650 for 16 GB). Owch.

 

Reading that launch day preorders are sold out with Apple, now a 1-2 week wait. I imagine that will just continue to grow leading to launch.

AT&T saying they did 200,000 preorders in the first 12 hours, which is better than any previous iPhone.

 

Well you could be eligible for early upgrade soon (I think if you bought it the day it came out, then you will be eligible December).

Thinking of getting my daughter the iPod Touch for her birthday and was wondering if anyone knows if there's any real difference between the Touch talked about during the announcement about the iPhone 4S besides the software upgrade, which the current Touch can simply upgrade to, and being able to get it in white (which I could care less about).

Anyone know? Any technological upgrades/differences with the Touch? CNET says no, as far as they can tell.

 

I encountered MAJOR FAIL while trying to order from Apple.com. At the same time, I was able to get right through on AT&T's site. This will be the first iPhone I've order from AT&T. Anyone experience any issues getting past iPhones directly from AT&T?

You should get it in white, looks cooler and will be more unique for your daughter.

 

Switching to Verizon for my next iPhone.. fed up with AT&T's coverage.. can't wait!

 

Since it's a birthday present, I couldn't wait for the white model, and she really didn't care (so she said). Gave it to her today and she flipped!

so they have had retina screen for about a year and half and are not putting it on the touch... thats weird

 

Last year's touch had the retina display.

 

when are the updates usually pushed out? will it be avail late tuesday night/wed morning or will it be more like 9-10 am on wednesday?

 

Wondering this too, really excited to download and try out iOS5 ASAP.

 

The Touch has got it, and it looks sensational. As theogcasey noted, it has had it for over a year.

 

I think you will need to pay for the upgrade on the Touch.
