Oh, by the way: Apple is just getting started f-ing **** up. http://gizmodo.com/5524843/police-seize-jason-chens-computers Police Seize Jason Chen's Computers Last Friday night, California's Rapid Enforcement Allied Computer Team entered editor Jason Chen's home without him present, seizing four computers and two servers. They did so using a warrant by Judge of Superior Court of San Mateo. According to Gaby Darbyshire, COO of Gawker Media LLC, the search warrant to remove these computers was invalid under section 1524(g) of the California Penal Code. Here is all the documentation (Jason Chen's personal details are pixelated). See web site for images of the SEARCH WARRANT, etc. This is getting crazy.
Steve Jobs needs a hobby. I swear, if the guy spends his free time trying to best every single person who bested him, he will die an angry man. Gizmodo beat you Apple, get over it. It's effing ridiculous. No, Gizmodo did not target Gray Powell, and yes, they divulged a trade secret. It's their jobs. If they didn't tell the good people of the interwebs what the iPhone 4 looks and feels like they would be bad reporters. I've got an idea for you Mr. Jobs, it's a strange one I know, but how about you remove the veil of secrecy about your products and actually let people in. Let the product sell itself, not the hype. When you play this game of let's hide what we're doing, you only make reporters salivate with delight when a secret slips through the cracks. Jason Chen is not at fault here, it is apple that is at fault.
They're both kind of pathetic if you ask me. Gizmodo pays for a phone that doesn't belong to them and busts it open to examine it. Steve Jobs... well, Steve Jobs has pretty much been an ass for a while. lol. I can't stand the actions of either one of them in this matter, to be honest. Who woulda thunk it? As their lives wind down, Bill Gates is a philanthropist helping underprivileged people around the planet and Steve Jobs is still a nerd weenie playing revenge games like a 10 year old (assuming Steve is behind this... but then he is everything Apple, right?). This should be interesting to see how this goes down. The whole thing is kind of sick and twisted.
Any news on a launch date? I'm about to drop-kick my slow-ass 3G. I need an upgrade but none of the competitors are compelling to me and I don't want to get a 3GS when there's a new model on the horizon.
Late June early July. Jobs is butt hurt he can't do a nifty unveiling so there wont be an official release date until Apple figures out a different launch marketing strategy for it.
thought this was posted before but here it is again for those that missed it. funny stuff. <embed allowscriptaccess="never" wmode="transparent" src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:cms:item:comedycentral.com:307953" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" height="415" width="480"></embed><img src="http://stats.vodpod.com/stats/view/5500719/664373/4262/pod.gif" width="1" height="1" style="margin:0 -1px -1px 0;border:none;padding:0;display:inline;" /><img src="http://s.vodpod.com/stats/video/3514134/25/UqrvbtNYuU57vbXDxnOh9680FDVxj+CNFf5BZY4qHygyDK1noKFTo3MndPbr 0tFs/G0zNPN5ShPcqe28c1RahA80dGtL12RF9NnoFxKlFl9g=" width="1" height="1" style="margin:0 -1px -1px 0;border:none;padding:0;display:inline;" /> <div style="font-size:0.9em;"> <a href="http://vodpod.com/watch/3514134-appholes">Daily Show: The Apple Appholes</a> - Watch more <a href="http://vodpod.com/funny">Funny Videos</a> at <a href="http://vodpod.com">Vodpod</a>.</div>
They don't announce the launch date until the WWDC... which is June 7th. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=184503
Really? I've had to reset the network settings on mine about once every 2-3 days to get internet. It's a conspiracy!
i mean, i always had 4 or 5 bars of reception at home. ALWAYs. now, i fluctuate between 0 and 3...average being about 1.5 probably at best. And while I'm out and around the DC metro area, it was pretty much 4 or 5 bars everywhere except 2 or 3 known dead spots (while outdoors at least). But now it's been 0-4, average around 2. Just the last 3 weeks.. yeah, makes you wonder. But I'm definitely considering Verizon and/or Android
I live in Dallas I have had AT&T for many years I have an IPhone 3G I very seldom have any dropped calls and never within the metroplex I question anyone who says they have problems with AT&T's network in Dallas. The company I that I work for in Keller (suburb of Dallas) uses AT&T as well as my whole family. My family got AT&T several years ago because we could call each other as much as we wanted at any time with out taking a hit on our minutes. Plus since most of my friends have AT&T there is never a worry about minutes when we talk as well. I have yet to have a conversation with any of them about AT&T having issues with in the metroplex... not one. I have had an IPhone for over a year and most the people at my company have had one longer than me (took me a while to give up my blackberry). It has easily been the best phone that I have ever had and nothing is even a close second. I have yet to talk to even one person that owns the IPhone and does not think it is far and away the best phone they have ever owned and most of the people at my work are all ex blackberry users. If you are saying you are having issues with AT&T within the metroplex I am going to have to call BS. If you are really averaging 3 dropped calls a day then I would suggest the 1. your equipment is damaged or 2. the issue exists with whoever you are talking to.
I'm in Fort Worth. My call quality has consistently gone down. However, I accept that my iPhone 3G is a little long in the tooth and may be damaged to an extent. It's also Jailbroken, BUT, has been for a while and hasn't been an issue until recently.
I drop calls at least once a day...same with some of my other AT&T friends in the Houston area. It wasnt like this 2 years ago, but I have noticed it get consistently worse. The worst part is when I have an important business conference call and I drop the call. Terrible timing when it seems to count the most.
All this time I resisted the urge to switch to ATT to get an iPhone. I've been waiting to get a legitimate iPhone level smartphone on Verizon, and I finally ordered one with the Droid Incredible. It's been a long wait, but I couldn't chance leaving Verizon.
That was in SA... because AT&T HQ is located in SA. I've had the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3Gs for about 2 years now... in Houston, I NEVER dropped any calls for my first year with AT&T. I mean, I always had 5 bars... when I got to SA... everywhere I went... there was either reception issues or dropped calls. My equipment isn't damaged and I know that because I'm back here in Houston now and it's working perfectly fine.
