Because they bricked it remotely since they didnt want his personal info or OS 4.0 getting out? Im guessing youre not very familiar with Apple's history of product development secrecy? Apple doesnt do stuff like this, and people who leak their stuff get the hammer dropped on them.
BS...and coincidentally it ended up on Gizmodo, an Apple fanboy site. The release of the iPad, the announcement of the OS4 and now this. Seems to me they are just pushing their momentum.
I doubt it, AP reported and Gizmodo later admitted they paid 5k for it. The guy who found it even offered to sell it to Engadget earlier. That's how they got the picks.
azizansari Hey guys, lost my iPhone recently. Has a camera on front & is a little slimmer. Need it back ASAP, in some deep ****. Thx.
Bebop, take a look around dude... there's a reason nobody agrees with you... and most people think you're nuts.
What part of "they paid for the iPhone" don't you get? Are you delusional? Maybe you should rethink your position, it's not me who's the fanboy but you the troll.
Nuts?? What Apple got to lose? They already got this patten down if this is the real deal. This to me is one of their genius hyping scheme. What's the best way to calm people's fear by leaking the actual physical design to see the buzz? Seems to me Gizmodo physical hand on of the real thing calm people's fear when they saw just blurry images of it earlier on. How many freaking time have we seem leaked products not just from Apple but from other companies on purpose? To me this this give it a cool story and much hype and free advertisement.
So why isn't Steve Jobs tweeting and suing or threatening anyone who have the lost product in their procession? So why isn't he pissed off at Gizmodo?
Tweeting? What's that gonna do? Suing? Obviously this leak is an internal problem. We're not going to know what they do about it. At least until someone finds that guy's corpse while fishing. Gizmodo is doing what any other news company would do. He can be pissed at them all he wants, but what will that accomplish? Gizmodo is legally in the clear, the only thing they did that was actually not cool was publishing one of Apple's employees personal info like that and publicly embarrassing him. That was just lame city, but that's something for the guy himself to be pissed about, not Jobs. I really don't get your whacked out paranoia, the writing is on the wall about how this went down (as well as years and years worth of history about how Apple protects their brand secrets and handles leaks), but for some reason you're more interested in making up a narrative. Shine on, Cowboy.
Why would he be pissed of at Gizmodo? Gizmodo acquired a device from an Apple employee... if anything, he'd be mad at that guy. I don't think Steve Jobs even has a twitter...
How do you know he isn't pissed??? Maybe he is, but not posting it for all of us to read. I am skeptical as you are, man, don't get me wrong, but I don't think it's an Apple ploy. Everyone is saying "an engineer" lost this phone. Why? Does it say on the phone "I am an Engineer at Apple"??
Do you know what happen when you don't leak stuff on purpose? For example movies. Even if someone found prints of a movie and leaked it on the internet. They will get their ass sue big time! Apple seems to be saying thank you Gizmodo for putting the hype back into a product people are starting to lose interest in. Apple seems to take it pretty well because this thing was all over the news, tweets, blogs and creating major hype. Apple seems to be calm about this is odd.
Here's another theory. This was leaked on the same day that Android's HTC Incredible pre-order started. Isn't Apple suing or in some patents lawsuit against HTC? HTC Evo 4G is also coming out so I'm pretty sure they want to remind people to wait because people are thinking about switching over to Android.
lol... I can only assume Bebop is celebrating the hell out of 4/20 over there... somebody's paranoid...
Conspiracy theory? Are some people that blind? What's so hard to not believe Apple PR isn't leaking this on purpose? Things are being leaked all the time maybe not like this. We all know how much Steve Jobs and Eric E. Schmidt(Google) like one another. Funny enough it felt into one of the biggest Apple fanboy/gadget site Gizmodo.
