Considering the iPad 3 starts at $499, how are they the same price?

Would you just buy a IPAD2 or pay the premium to get the IPAD3?

I am the wrong person to ask:) I bought an iPad 3 and gave my 4 year old grandson the old iPad. I also am grandfathered in to an unlimited AT&T data plan, that I was able to transfer to the new one. I use mine quite often, especially when traveling. Using it right now to post from the hotel pool in LA.

I try my best, thanks. But on the serious note, I don't get the Apple love. Overpriced and you have to pay for a lot of things that are already built in with other brands. If you take a look at the specs it's really overhyped.

The IPAD 1 isn't really that different from the II but you can get it way cheaper. If you got an IPAD there's really no real need for the II.

Ribbing aside, as an iPad 1 owner, I respectfully disagree. The iPad 2 is miles ahead in terms of power and hardware. It also has a mic and a camera. My iPad 1 constantly crashes if I have too many browser tabs open and I have to close all apps to play a game.

As far as brand goes- I honestly dont care who made it. It doesn't matter how powerful the hardware is; it's all about usability, meaning app selection in most cases. The wild popularity of the iOS devices makes it tops in app selection, meaning, to me, it's the device with the most utility.

Other pros are: it's a US company (go USA!!!) and the warranty service is fantastic.

But, the fact is that they are not the same price as you wrote. The 2 is 20% cheaper at the entry level price. How is it a rip off? No one has to buy it.

    Nope you don't get it...

    Apple offers solutions that work.

No other computer manufacturer offers a complete computing/entertainment solution like apple and they all wish the did.

Audio/video/photo/content streaming through out your home with minimal setup and cost.

A large % of people who hate on apple just don't know how much thought and work they put into making things work together seamlessly.

Trust me I have first hand knowledge of the PC design/marketing industry and Apple sets the standard the rest of the industry is striving to achieve.

The new ultrabooks everyone is pushing this year... welcome to the Macbook Air from 2 years ago.
