To those I'll add the cassette player, the VCR, the mini-computer, the calculator (I remember only having a slide rule), the digital phone pad, instead of the circular thingy you had to dial, the flat screen TV (CRT's used to be curved... and small. I remember my grandmother's TV had a big magnifying glass to increase the size of the screen!), the color TV.

I'll stop there. Just too many things I could list. Great topic!

    Yup!

Here are the websites for AMC Theaters and Edwards Cinema.

    http://www.regmovies.com/nowshowing/opencaptionedshowtimes.aspx

There are two options to watch the subtitles, open captions or rear window captioning. I prefer open captions because it's already included in the movie. Rear window, you have to use a device to read the subtitles that is on the back of the wall.

No, it's just funny to joke about.

Being that most folks in here are older than me, not much I can add. But mobile, wireless internet ranks pretty high for me.

    Personal computer
    The Internet
    Cell Phone
    Microwave

I've become so dependent on those technologies I'm not sure what I would do if I had to go for a long time without them.

Yeah, but I don't think it was available for commercial use until the 80's, and really didn't exist in a form resembling what it does now until nearly the mid-90's.

That aside, there's a few old farts wandering around in here. :D

Do you remember going to bars and playing Pong when it came out? It was such a big deal! I always prefered air hockey and foosball, but Pong had the crowds for awhile. :)

Not bars (I was a little kid), but there was a pizza place in the town where I lived that had one. I remember it being the most awesome thing I'd ever seen in my life up to that point.

It seems so stupid now, but it was amazing at the time.

And then when Dr. Isern next door got one of the ones you hooked up to your TV, my tiny little mind was blown again.
