I think Chuck has lost some weight since the end of the season... I could be wrong though.

Hopefully he can avoid the injury curse. *knock on wood*

And hopefully Chuck can get a short range jump shot.

Stromile's problem is not his brain it's his heart. IMO, Dorsey is better motivated, sure he needs to learn the game but I think he'll put in the work.

He can run, shoot, pass and read the floor. Sounds like he's right up Adelman's alley. I'm much more excited about seing him than Joey.

Wow, he looks like a complete and full-blown douchebag with that earring and goatee.

An inauspicious first impression reminiscent of Stromile Swift's 'suit vest sans the actual suit' costume.

I also believe it is the brain.. Dude is not the sharpest knife in the kitchen.

I think he needs to follow the yellow brick road..

IIRC, Stro spoke about not understanding the "terminology" JVG used during practice.

    He is the anti-Josh Childress.

Josh gave up the NBA to chase millions of dollars in Europe.

David Andersen gave up millions of dollars in Europe to play in the NBA. He truly loves the game to give up that money. I don't know, if I could do the same thing.

I think anyone who heard his suggestion that he brought "athletic-cism" to the team can agree that the alleged brain was at least somewhat culpable.

As a huge rockets fan I sincerely hope that Dorsey blossoms into a beast and a legitimate starter but it's foolish to think that at this point right now he's anywhere close in the pecking order behind both David Andersen and chuck hayes. Chuck continued to prove his value as yao's replacement against the lakers and is established as one of the best post defenders in the league. Andersen hasn't proven a thing in the NBA but we didn't trade and sign him to a multiyear deal in order to rot him on the bench behind Dorsey. Joey will have ample opportunity to move ahead of either guy but to expect him to based on all the evidence seems silly.

Since when did shaq have a aussie accent? And why are you hating on him so much? At least wait till he has some preseason game under his belt before knocking on the guy...

I know Vspan suck ass, but dude was so cocky... Andersen on the other hand seems humble to even have an opportunity to play here.

I remember him saying he needs to just find his role on the team. That is no indication of him stating he is going to come in and dominate. And not many people expect that except for the few optimist. Even then, why be a Mr Grouch and destroy there hope??

Like I said, he tends to put words into his interviewees' mouths.

You're seriously underrating Andersen. He's not going to come in here like Scola perhaps, but he is a vet with polished skills. That alone gives him a greater chance of starting early on because Dorsey still has his consistent mental mistakes, even if he has cut them down significantly from last year.

i think he's going to slim up a bit this season...he put on weight to help him play the 5 more this year, but i think that affected him on offense. Yeah he didn't do much, but he didn't seem to have the same lift on his putbacks, evident by how many he was missing this season. Hopefully he can chisel himself close to dorsey's frame so he'll have the quickness, but strength as well, but not many can come close to Dorsey :)

That's what I thought when I first saw him. He doesn't seem to be quite the chunky.

I thought Chuck was a bit too heavy, at least at the start, of last season. He was bulkier than I recall from years past and wasn't quite as quick as I remembered. He seems to be more effective at a lighter weight-- quicker and pretty much still stronger than most players he would be guarding.

Man what if Anderson surprises us and has scola type skills with his size. We can only hope. :p
